We call Kyle (our almost 3 year old) "Boogie" because he LOVES to dance. We call our daughter Alecjandrah (who will be a year old tomorrow the 25th!!) either "Lexi", because it's easier for everyone to spell or "Peanut" because she was so small at birth compared to her brother. (7 lbs 1 oz compared to 9 lbs 6 oz)

My daughter Jadzia is Zia for the most part. Some of her teachers call her "ZeeZee". Sometimes "Boo" (she resembles Boo from Monsters Inc). She is also "Niña" for those family members who can't pronounce her name :) and then "Sis", my dad always called us girls that so it got passed on. But she is always "Baby Girl" for me.

I have four children and I think my husband and I call them anything just to get them to answer. I caught my 2 year old going through the list trying to call his sister's name the other day. So we came up with a few nicknames for them - Boogie Lou or Knuckler, Handsome Connor, D-Money and Rah Rah girl. I also made up songs for each of them. They love when I sing it to them because they know it is all about them. Fun Times!!

My oldest is peanut and Princess Waterfall which is the meaning of her name (Sarah Lynn). It seemed to hold true when she was a baby on the changing table.

My second is pumpkin and honey buns. She'll actually say "I'm not Adelaide; I'm honey buns." We also call her Addy for short.

Our son is only three weeks old and a nickname hasn't stuck, but I think he's going to be our chipmunk. He squeaks like one and he's groing into his cheeks. He also looks like a chipmunk as he pulls his binky into his mouth.

My son Nathaniel--NATE--> is affectionately refferred to as the FartenNATER... he *likes* to fart--a lotta--he's 10--and a super kid!!!

I used to just call him Nathan-a shortened variety of Nathaniel--which he only hears if/when in trouble... but he's such a big boy now--Nate works just fine for him--when about 5 years ago--he wouldn't stand to be called Nate!?! LOL

BTW--> I think we shold start a "conversation" on what our children's names mean &/or why we named them what we did!!!... Whattdoya think!?! :-)

My youngest we call Jinx after his great grandfather, Eugene McCabria. Although I never knew him he always had a twinkle in his eye, practical joker, life of the party type and this suits Mason to a tee. Plus a nice hat tip to family history....

I gave my 12 y/o daughter, Meighan, the nickname of "Ladybug" when she was an infant while I was struggling to nurse her. At about age 8 she told me it was embarrassing in public, so I have been given permission to call her "Lady". My 7 1/2 y/o son already goes by his middle name, Andrew. We used to call him Bubba, until we rescued a dog from the shelter that already responded to the name Bubba. Now I call my son "Bubby", which in yiddish means grandmother... but oh well!

Katie is Chicken Butt because she says "what?" so often. You know the whole guess what...chicken butt...why...chicken thigh

Charlie is Thunder Butt...from the noise coming from it so often. He's getting better about learning manners, but he's a typical 13-year old.

Alex is Ace. Just because he thinks he's such a hotshot.

my oldest Jacob, used to be bugaboo when he was little, then jakers.. he is almost 18 now and doesn't perfer either.. he like Jake. my 9 y/o Kaiah, has a few nicknames.. Kaikai, kittykaiah, piglet, and last but not least "Dumpling" courtesy of her Swedish nana. She wishes she had a more graceful nickname.. she wanted hummingbird.. but it just didn't fit with her personality.
