i have just had my little boy after my eldest boy/girl, thing is there is an 11 1/2 year gap, and most of the nursery rhymes i used to sing seem to have fallen through my sieve like brain, does anyone have any good ones that i can learn for my baby please, thank you.

Get CD's I have purchase several at walmart for around 5 bucks! I play them everytime we are in the car. My 2.5 yr old can sing up to 30 songs! It is so cute!

You Are My Sunshine is our fave! We replace the word 'sunshine' with their name. Google 'nursery rhyme lyrics'...you'll find plenty!

i've just had a quick look on google, and come up with this site, got a pop up for a new cursor, easy got shot of, but the site is brilliant from what i have seen so far, not only does it have lyrics but also the meanings behind the rhymes. http://www.rhymes.org.uk/

'ohhhh the grand old duke of york' is my favorite too, i used to give it a big build up with the 'ohhhhhhhhhhhhh,' getting louder as it gets longer, then 'the grand old duke of york....'fast'ish. they used to get so excited, so now i do it with my baby and he seems to like it too. i think this is why i still remember that one, i do 'row, row, row your boat' to hoping it will stimulate his back strength, and help him learn to get to sitting position easier, he seems to like that one too. thank you for the link Debra, but i'm british, so i guess our curriculum will be different, plus the phonics will be different too, so i'm not sure if it will be greatly useful for us, but i will definately keep it in mind. thank you once again, to all who have kindly taken the time to help me. your all great people. all the best, angela.

thats very kind of you all, thank you! it is good to hear your favorites, i did go on utube for them before posting this, mainly for nelly the elephant, but scanned the others on there too, like Judy says it helps to have the tunes to go with, but i have never heard of the one Lis has kindly wrote out, but i love it, and thank you Tanya, i had completely for gotten about BINGO and the farmer in the dale. which is sad as they are such good rhymes. all your help is very gratefully recieved, thank you all ever so much. i'm in all your debts! take care, all the best, angela.

Debra is right about the library. If you can't find it there, you just aren't going to find it at all!!! LOL You might also use Google & enter "nursery rhymes" & you will probably have all you could ever want to choose from. You might also check websites that are children's sites. I know alot of them, but I can't sing them to you here, so you would have the tune as well as the words. Good Luck.
