I used reusable ones and I tried the disposable ones too. I preferred the reusable because they were softer on my skin and although they didn't have anything to stick them to my bra, they stayed in place because my boobs were so huge. I also found that because I was wearing jumpers most of the time it didn't really matter if they showed a little through my top. I found that they didn't show too much anyway because I had a really good bra which was also quite thick and so showing was minimal. I had really sensitive skin and at the time my eczema on my boobs (although not my mipples) was really bad and the disposable ones irritated my skin more as they rubbed and didn't take the moisture away from my skin very effectively. Ultimately I found that the best way to stop leaking was to feed and so I only leaked a few drips around feeding time anyway.

I like the gerber ultra thin pads.  I tried the reusable ones because I am kind of a tree hugger, but they COMPLETELY did not work for me!

i used advent reusable nursing pads they really good even if you leak a lot in the night

I used the lily pads & loved them.  You should of course try them at home for a day or two before you venture out into public in case they don't work for you

i used the re-useables at first then found that i didnt need them at all once my milk got on a schedule. If you pump or nurse on a schedule you'll find you have a lot less leakage because your body will only let your milk down at the set times. You may also want to try the suction cup type, I think they're silicone, because you can just wash and dry them after use in your bathroom sink, rather than creating extra laundry.

i used the reusable ones as i found the single use ones made me very sweaty and then sore. make sure you get the 100% cotton ones as i found these the most comfortable. i had 5 pairs so that washing and wearing was not a problem

I use the Gerber ulktra thin inthe day and Curity Pads at night(they r a bit thicker)  I am not too picky, I stay at home. Heck sometimes my sons socks work. Anything is better than wking up soaking wet

when breastfeeding, i liked the Lansinoh ones for in public and the Curel?Curex? can't remember the name but they were pretty big and thick for at nite. (i found them at Walmart and Kroger). I sometimes used the reusable ones 2 at a time at home b/c I always experienced leakage with them. (and found them to be less discreet). Lansinoh ones often come with a couple of free milk storage bags or some free baby wipes too!

I go back to work next tues.  I have gone through 2 boxes of pads now.  I started with playtex and really liked them.  They were much more absorbant and they hid the smell alot better.  I had a coupon for the Gerber Ultra thin and I hate them.  I have to use 2 at a time because they dont absorb anything and the milk leaks down my breast. Not to mention I feel like I can constantly smell milk.  I'm going back to the playtex but am curios if other brands are even better. Im not worried about bulkiness...my chest is so darn huge already it doesn't matter.

I tried both and ended up loving the Lily Pads - they are expensive but I totally love them and think they are the only thing you need - I did it with just one pair. They are eay to wash (just rinse in sink with warm water and soap) and no one can tell you are waring them. I even did exercise in them with no leaks!

Be careful which J&J package you purchase. One version of their pads is about 1/4 to 1/2 in. thick about 3 in. diameter and the gauzy layer sticks to the skin. Oh, and it's obvious to others that they're being worn because they show through clothing like nobody's business...

The reusable are bulky and show through clothing.  I always used the lansinoh with no problems...

Yeah i agree 100% with the laundry thing! I've gotten to where i don't wear them any more. They get in the way. Do you stay at home ?

The cheapest one's from Target.  I think Johnson's and Johnson's made them.  They are super thin with no fancy gauze on them.  Which I loved because then they don't stick to your nipples--Ouch!

I tried the reusable one's but I don't think I bought enough.  I felt like I was doing laundry all the time anyway without trying to keep up nursing pads too.

I use the Lansinoh pads during the daytime (they have an adhesive strip and are the least bulky of the brands that have the adhesive strip) and use the Playtex pads at night. Playtex pads are a good bit cheaper than the Lansinoh pads, which is why I don't use the Lansinoh pads 24/7. I thought about buying and using the reusable, but decided that the extra "special" laundry would be more hassle than it was worth to me.
