My son is big. Long big. I'm 5'11" and my husband is 6'4". And Fatty's car seat no longer fits. What are we supposed to do? Like his weight is over the limit for the seat now too (his legs has been too long for it).

I have been a car seat technician for almost 7 years, and I would recommend NOT buying a 3-in-1 car seat. They are generally poorly made, hard to properly use, and have very short top harness heights. Due to the low harness height, most kids outgrow these seats by age 2.5, especially taller kids. It would be a huge waste of money for your child. You also should not put him in a forward-facing seat like the Britax Frontier. Kids should stay rear-facing until between 30-35 lbs. depending on the limits of their seat. The seats I would encourage you to look at are the True Fit by The First Years (rear-faces to 35 lbs. and forward-faces to 65lbs. for about $180), the Britax Marathon (rear-faces to 35 lbs. and forward-faces to 65 lbs. for about $269), the The Evenflo Triumph Advance (RF to 35 lbs. and FF to 50 lbs. for about $180), and the Cosco Scenera (RF to 35 lbs. and FF to 40 lbs for about $50). Any of these seats is a good choice. Some will last longer than others, but they are all good choices. Buy a seat with the features that matter most to you since you can't add anything to a car seat after you buy it. Let me know if you have other questions! MacKenzie

I have to agree with the two other moms... I bought both my boys 3 in 1 car seats because they outgrew their carriers very early. They face back to start, then you face them forward and they then turn into a booster. It's money well spent for us. Don't be afraid to take him out of the carrier if he doesn't fit, he is more likely to get injured if he is too big for it. Most 3 in 1 car seats, also recline a few different positions and the head rests can also be adjusted. Hope that helps.

How old is your little one? There are a lot of harnessed boosters out there that are really good and the best one, though pricey is a Britax Frontier booster which has some of the highest shoulder slots avaiable on the market, can be harnessed to 65lbs and accommodate up to 100lbs. The only downfall...munchkin has to be 2 to use it.

My daughter is also tall. I bought a 3 in 1 car seat as she was still so young I didn't want to put her in the second stage car seat yet. They are more exspensive but worth it. You can't carry around that seat but if you baby's too big for the infant seat you probably don't want to carry around the extra weight of a car seat anyway!!
