J/W, this next time around I'm hoping for a little girl and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for traditional names?

I LOVE Kathryn but that name has been taken. I like Cassandra as well.

Christina

Alexandra

Elizabeth

All taken!

I love very feminine sounding girls names. Very pretty

My Son's name is Zackary. When I was pregnant with him, if he were a girl she would of been called Madeleine (Husband doesn't like it anymore, lol)

Any ideas?

My daughter's name is Victoria Skye. She is named after Queen Victoria and Skye O'Malley, a fictional character out of a historical romance novel.

My Daughter is Emelia which is a variant of Amelia, we chose Briannie as my dad was called Brian for her middle name, so it was a memory name as he died nine years a go and we also had Grace. We also liked Imogen and Isabella and Beatrice.

I named my daughter after my Nana Lydia. I have yet to meet anyone in my area with the same name. My great grandma's name was Dalia and on the paternal side Angelina. Look at your relatives names for old fashioned names.

My husband and I could not agree on names. He liked Tahlia and I liked Brooke and Zara. So we mixed the two and now have Zahlia Brooke.... I actually really like the name Charlotte. Just a few ideas. Good luck!!

I have 3 girls, Chelsea, Emma and Stella. I have always loved old English names. If I had been lucky to have another girl she would have been called Evie.

[deleted account]

Jane, Mary and Susan are old-fashioned and not very common any more....Charlotte, Violet, Prudence, of course, Faith, Hope, Charity....Penelope, Priscilla, I could go on... have fun, my girls are Jessica Suzanne, Michelle Leana, and Caroline Virginia...

I have twin girls and we named them Ava and Mattie. And, if our son were a girl, he would have been Grace. I just love the traditional names.

My husband and I LOVE old fashioned/traditional, beautiful girl's names as well. We have 6 daughters and their names are
1. Lauren Elizabeth
2. Caroline Joanne
3. Susan Marie
4. Victoria Elaine
5. Melissa Yvonne
6. Emma Kathleen

Some of these names we just picked because we liked. Some of them we chose to honor an ancestor or where our ancestors came from. If you know your genealogy that is a great place to find traditional names that aren't as common now or just go to the library and look at census records from the 1800's and you'll find lots of great names.

What about Sarah, Rose, Victoria, Isabel, or Isabella or a personal favorite, because it was a family name Annastasia. Racheal too.

We have a 7 year old Helena Rose (after my 2 grandmothers, both born in the 1800s) and 2 year old twins Rebecca and Susanna. Traditional names are lovely.

I have a son, but the girl's names we had picked out were Audrey or Charlotte, and we would have used the middle name that my grandmother, mom, and I share- Kathleen.

i love old fashioned girl names we named our girl Harriet Evelyn Rose

Look up your family tree. I think the best traditional and old fashioned girls names are ones that have meaning. One point, though --- I have an "Abby" which when I named her, no one was Abby, but now it's common again. Anyway, I do wish (and she wishes) her name was Abigail or some name that was common enough, with a common spelling, so that her name was actually on all those knick knacks stores sell. I think if you go with a unique name, it's fine... However, if you go with a classic name, go with the classic spelling.

I love traditional English names, I would have love to call my next daughter (if baby is a girl) Clementine or Poppy, Daisy, Charlotte or Florence but husband doesn't like Clementine and all the others are gone! Grace I think is a beautiful girls name as is Eleanor - so many pretty names!
