I was wondering if there are any moms out there that have children with younger men. I am 40 and my husband is 28. We have a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old and a very happy marriage. It would be great to converse with some women who are in a similar situation as I am. Thanks.

Hi!!!

My hubby is younger than me Im 30 and he is 25 we have been married 5yrs march 2009!!! We have 3 kids one is mine from previous boyfriend he will be 12 in Feb 2009 then we have 2 together Brayden 6 who was also born with a heart condition and Madison who has just turned 3!!! I was worried he wouldnt cope with me already having a child and then when I feel pregnant with our 6 yr old (obviously unplanned) I was so worried he would run off just as my eldest sons father did but he was so great and has been threw everything!!! All my previous serious relationships have been older men and have either ended from them being to controlling or them cheating!! My younger man is the best thing that could have ever happened to me!!!! People should keep their opinions to themselves we fall in love with a person not their age!!!!!

Tricia have your children been teased or anything like that for their parents being different ages?  We live in a small town and I know parents and children can be cruel.  It makes no difference to my hubby and I but you know some peoples opinions.

Margaret Its good to hear you have a great relationship. I also have a similar age gap between myself and my partner of 2 years. Sure we have ups and downs but we love each other dearly and we have a beautiful little baby boy. i also have teenagers that adore there little brother. I have to say I thought after 20 years of marriage to someone my own age and three children it was the last thing I expected to fall in love with someone half my age, or more to the point him fall for me, but we are soul mates and to be honest I love his energy and commitment to be a good Dad and Partner. Also I think younger Dads nowadays are much more hands on than the previous generation of Dads which is great for any age mum :)

My husband and I have two kids, 9 and 7. I'm 46, he's 36. We've been married for 10 years!

Actually Michelle I think the same thing.  My hubby acts a lot older and people think there i only maybe 4-6 years difference rather than 12 years.  I think sometimes what it would be like when I'm 70 and he's 58.  58 to me is still not old (not a senior anyway) and 70 is a white haired senior.  And no it's not vainess.

OK - My hubby and I are 10 years (almost 11) apart, He looks and acts older, I look and act younger, so it balances out. We are very happy and have been for 10 years. The age thing has never made a difference at all. It's great! I can't imagine life without him. It's challenging at times with the stupid ex, but my real concern over the years I have had (and want to know if you all have had it, too...and I apologize for the vainness of it) is looks. In several years...what if I look a LOT older than he does? I guess I am asking - what if he ages better than I do (as most men do) and he looks fantastic, and I just look old. Does anyone else ever get these strange vain fantasies like I do?

My soon to be hubby can't wait to "learn" what I can teach him.....so he says. And he makes a joke about me training him too.

The biggest joke my hubby and I share is that when we get older he will be pushing my wheelchair around...the funny thing was when I was pregnant had to be hospitalized due to my blood pressure we had a preview because the only way they would let me out of my room was in a wheelchair.

I have to say it's so nice to know I'm not alone!

Nice to know there are so many of us out there! I just turned 45 and am marrying a 36 yr old this summer. I joke about finding a younger man that I can train. My teenage boys love him and he's my best friend. Can't wait to see what my ex says when he finds out how young Brian is. heehee!

People tend to think I'm the younger between my husband and I also. I'm guessing his parents never told his brothers just how old I was cuz I bumped into one of them at the store one day (after one of those really hectic, wear-you-out kind of days) and he said how are you young lady. I looked at him and go "young?" He thought I was around their age (they all ranged between 20 and 28 at that time)!

I think it is common for women our age to date men younger than us.  I know with my husband's friends they all new my age when we started dating and when they met me it was like I was part of the group.  No one seemed to have cared which is nice.  On the other hand most of my friends were a bit shocked and couldn't believe I was dating someone so much youger than I am.  I have to laugh now.  Some of these friends are still not married. Where I have a great husband ( a year and half now) and a 5 month old.

I just turned 40 in December and my husband turned 32 last September. It seems to be pretty common for us women to marry younger men. We have 5 year old twinboys and I have a 16 year old from a previous relationship my current husband adopted. At times we have our struggles,,but I dont thin it is the age difference.I would love to chat more with you anytime.

Have a great day.

Exactly.  When people meet us they always think he is older than I.  He definitely looks older than his age where as I always look younger than mine.  His parents really can't say anything about our age difference since they are 8 and half years apart.  They tried when we first started dating and didn't have any luck.

Hi Lynda.  I do find that some of our morals are a bit different.  My husband grew up in a small town about 2 and half hours south of Chicago.  I grew up in a big city- Chicago. Though, my family moved to the suburbs when I was 10 and I lived there for 17 years.  I did move back to the city in my late 20's.

Life is too short to be any other way. I joke it off to people who look at us funny when they ask our ages as "hey, younger men have more energy!" I am just glad we have all found men that we can enjoy who enjoy us back. Life is great... it's meant to be enjoyed.

I agree with Michelle...if you all are happy...then the world be damned. You are all that matters!

You know - really the only thing that matters - is that the two of you - and your kids - are happy!

That's excellent  Tricia!!!   My husband and I will have been married 7 years in July.  My kids I think are better off because he does things with them that I wouldn't even think of....like snowboarding, snowmobiling and such.

My kids have never been teased about our age difference. We also live in a small town, but it's also the town I was born and raised in, so everyone knows everybody more or less. The opinion of most of this town is that I'm better off with my husband now than I was with either of my exes.

I just can't believe how many people look down upon Older Women/Younger Men relationships.   If it was the other way around nobody would think anything about it.

I just turned 38 earlier this month and my husband turned 30 in August. We have one son together that just turned a year old in December and working on a little brother/sister for him now. We will have been married 2 years this June and couldn't be happier. I have been married twice before and they were both to younger men...tho not as young as my current husband. I have 3 other kids between those two marriages (16 y/o DS, 11 y/o DS and almost 7 y/o DD).

Thank you for responding.   I found most older men didn't treat me that well, but my husband is the best thing that ever happened to me.  Sometimes tho I find that our morals are a little different only because I grew up with farmer/more traditional parents.  How about you?
