I'm 6 months pregnant and I'm having problem with sleeping since the first month of my pregnancy..I asked my doctor but he said it's normal..but that was like during the 3rd month. Now the problem became worst,I'll be awake all night and I will only be able to sleep in the morning for few hours..This makes me so tired, makes my head hurts and my body hurts too..Has anyone ever experience this kind of problem during their pregnancy? Pls help me!!

Check with your doctor, but mine said it was ok for me to take up to 2 Gravol per night, 3 nights per week in my last trimester.

Hey everyone!! Thanks alot for all the infos!I really appreciate them. I tried the pillows but not the recliner cause I don't have one lol..I tried the hot bath too and I can't take any nap during the day :( but so far long walk helps but I only be able to do it like 3-4 times a weeks cause I'm in a foreign country so I will only go out with my husband on his day off..I don't even have a doctor yet, local hospital's doctors here don't speak English :'( It's very difficult here.. Anyways, I will try to take the Benadryl/Gravol or the Chamomile tea..I really really want to sleep again, sometimes I can stay awake for more than 48hours.. It drives me crazy..Thanks again guys!!!!

My OB told me to take Benadryl in order to sleep. This can also (sometimes) help halt premature labor. ;)

its totally normal i couldn't sleep either with my first baby kicking back aching acid reflux vomiting and nasea. have you tried sleeping in a couch or chair? that helped me.

Sleep duing the day or whenever you can. Once the baby comes you'll want to sleep when he/she sleeps anyways....

For the pain, when I was pregnant my doc said I could take Tylenol. Hot showers right before bed helped me. The heat would help the pain and also help me get drowsy. But it never failed that as soon as I got comfy the baby would kick...he never wanted to let me sleep when I wanted to lol

Hi Umni, I did not experience this however I had a friend that could only sleep in a recliner type chair. I myself have health issues that cause me to ache some nights and I have found that sleeping in a recliner type chair or on the couch laying on my side with my back firmly against the back of the couch seams to help. For me it is about supporting my back and shoulders. Do you work out side the home? can you take naps during the day? Even a short nap at lunch time might help some. Have you asked your doctor if there is a natural remedy that will not hurt the baby is available? Maybe chamomile tea and a warm NOT HOT bath might help.I know for children a bed time routine and soft lights and no t.v. after a certain time of evening may help. I hope some of this helps. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Anne
