I am 21 and a new mom (just had my son 7 months ago) and was just diagnosed as having an ovarian cyst. I don't know much about them, and didn't know what to ask the doctor about it. So I didn't ask much. Anyways for now he is just treating me by putting me on a birth control pill. He has not done an ultrasound or CT scan yet because he knows I'm uninsured and worried about expensive procedures. I was just wondering what you all could tell me about cysts and how long it will be before I am better. It first started hurting in my stomach about 4 months ago and my tummy was swollen. Now it's swollen, my back and stomach hurt, I'm always tired, my periods are always late (if they come), and I have no appetite (I take a few bites and feel full). So when will all this go away? The doctor said to try birth control for a few months and if my periods and pain don't get better he'd go from there (meaning ultrasoun or CT scan...and whatever else he needed to do). What are you all's experiences?
