PEDIATRICIAN--- they specialize in children and I want to make sure my son gets the best care possible.....
my son is actually seeing my Pediatrician when I was a kid, surprised he is even still practicing. We are so lucky to have gotten him because he is rated the best pediatrician in the city and has strong affiliations with Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto which is the top childrens hospital in the world

My family Dr. is a specialist in babies..so he is a pediatrician first. He is absolutely amazing! I have 2 kids, the oldest is 4, and the youngest is 11 weeks. The oldest had a different pediatrician,,,and he was scared to death of him. Then I found this one, and he actually LOVES him...he even wanted a Dr bag to be like him. You can try more than one and decide from there. I would recommend getting opinions from people you trust with kids, and ask who they go to. That sometimes is how you find the BEST doctors. Good luck.

A pediatrician's specialty is children. They have more knowledge and education treating children. A family doctor can treat all ages but there specialty is not children. We only take our children to a pediatrician I wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

I went to about 7 family doctors with my baby (who had severe reflux) and it wasn't until I found a family doctor who specialises in babies and children and does not see adults at all that someone finally helped us. I have also seen lots of pediatricians, again it depends on the doctor. But in general I find peds to be much more knowledgable and have the experience they need rather than family docs. I found some family docs have very little experience with little babies and were pretty useless.

PEDIATRICIAN ! I high suggest pediatrician or family dr for any child. A pediatrician has that title for a reason there education they have more education, knowledge, and experience with infants and children. There knowledge with infants and child is a lot more broader than what a family dr is. I have see with many of my friend were a family dr has missed something a pediatrician later find. I have also seen many family dr have to refer the child to a pediatrician any way because they dont know what going on. Not everyone has these issues using a family dr but personally i wont take my child to a family dr intill they were teenagers.

I take my children to a pediatrician because that specialize in children. Although Family Practice doctors are good, they have a wide range of specialties. When my children are in there teens I will take them to a family doctor. I would ask my friends, neighbors, church family's where they take there children. Kind of your own back ground check on the doctors and clinics. Then make your choice.

My son sees my family doctor. He's been looking after my family for 4 generations, so he'll be retiring soon :( He's a great doctor and he's treated us all wonderfully so I just wouldn't have it any other way.

We chose pediatrician, partly because we didn't have a family dr so would of had to go through the entire process anyway. Pediatricians specialize in children, whatever you decide I would interview a couple before deciding. You want to make sure that they will support you in your decisions. We talked to 2 drs and ultimately went with the one who was very personable and didn't rush through our questions. He's the same way at her wellness appts he runs late but he covers everything! Goodluck I know how hard it is to find a dr that takes the time and cares!
