I just found out not that long ago that he's been a Pastor for the last 2 yrs at the Eganville Baptist Church in Ontario. The police have been informed, the local newspaper called (not that they are doing anything) and I have posted the information everywhere I can think of to get the word out. I don't believe he should be a Pastor because if I was going to that church and found out about him, I would immediatly leave. I knew this man and people like him do not change, they just become better at hiding it.

This is a serious issue, and its important to understand the information accurately. I didn't find the link to view the court documents, and I wish I could have. However, I'm a therapist who specializes in working with sex offenders, and I can tell you I have had several develop a commitment to God through their experience of being caught, prosecuted, and treated. I don't believe this "conversion" is always authentic, and even if it is, under no circumstances if they have offended against children should they EVER be in a position to be alone with a minor in ANY capacity. In some states, once they have completed treatment (which is like an alcoholic completing treatment... it doesn't mean they are "cured" enough to go hang out in bars) they are able to be alone with their biological minor children. In Washington State its actually a crime to leave a child with a known registered sex offender. With all this being said, it is very important to remember not ever sex offender who has committed a crime against a child is a PEDOPHILE. Pedophiles are extremely rare and incurable. So be cautious, be informed, share that information, but make sure you use accurate terms. Maybe this guy is a pedophile, but if he is he'll be on lifetime registration and his parole officer or CCO is going to have very tight reins on him and I doubt they would support his being in a position as powerful as pastor. Might be worth finding out who the PO is and go talk to them.

I think by you trying to inform as many people as you can is a good thing! Two doors down fron our house is a man (with wife and son) who is on Megan's List and there are a ton of kids on our street-everyone knows about him and we all keep our kids away from their house. Even if only 1 person listens to you, I think you have done a great thing by trying to inform people! Keep it up!

This is not right at all. I do not care if the bible says to forgive. If I was a part of a church and I found out that a pedophile was pastor not only would I leave the church I'd make sure everyone around knew.

How is it that anyone is ok with this? I mean honestly...... you're ok with this man being around your children? Think about it as if he was YOUR pastor. Would you want him having access to your children?

How is it that he's even allowed to do this with a court order stating that he is Not to seek, obtain, continue, or volunteer in any employment that involves being the person of authority and/or trust around children under the age of 14 yrs. A pastor falls under that category.

Ridiculous... glad we have things like this widely publicized when one those disturbed individuals are released into our communities here. I know it would not be taken well to find out a pedophile here was allowed to become a pastor. Not at all.

I personally dont think its right, just cause if i knew it would always be in the back of my mind what if. i might leave the church if i was a member. but aren't we taught to forgive? can't people be given a second chance and change. i mean as long as God is present anything is possible. maybe this is the case.

Thank you for your insight. A condition of his prohibition order states that he is not to be in or seek a position of trust or authority towards persons under the age of 14.

I go to a Baptist church in Delaware and we go by the Bible and it says that a leader has to be blameless, just, holy, temperate. this is talked about in Titus. Read chapter 1, in verse 10-11 it says "for there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake." I hope this helps.
