Plastic Pants?

We are potty training our son, he wears underwear or is naked during day time...going pretty well. And diapers while he is sleep. he can't wear Pull ups , because they break him out something awful.



So while we are out in public and all is there something i can put over his underwear , along with his shorts/pants? I know potty training is messy, this is my first one and I haven't quite figured out the potty training thing in public? HELP please!!!

I have a friend that made me some trainers with PUL if you don't know what that is it's the waterproof fabric that is used on cloth diaper covers you can find them on line for like 20 bucks a trainer but my friends price is much better if you're interested I could give you her web page I only use these at night as my girls are both fine out in public but I'm sure they'd work for out in public as well and you'd only need a couple

Amada is correct, if the child is senstive to wet then the palstic pants will cause a rash. Making the effort to take him every 30 minutes will help as well, which Theresa suggested. Changing the wet as soon at it happens will help as well as the wet will not "sit" on the skin for very
long.

They do make training pants which are terry cloth inside with a plastic pant on the outside sewn together. Those may work for your outings. Look at them before you purchase because if I remember right, (its been 14 years) some of the legs and waists are sewn so the terry cloth wraps around the elastic of the plastic pant cutting down on the rash.

Can you try different pull ups to see if he won't react poorly to them? The plastic pants tend to cause bad diaper rash, even if he doesn't pee in them.

Yes, they do make rubber pants to help with leaks. Also they make thicker training pants that hold an accident a little better. My daughter actually did better at staying dry when out running errands than she did at home. Make sure he goes potty before leaving home and take him every 1/2 hour to hour while out and about that will help lower the number of accidents.

Just bring extra pair of pants socks shoes and undies. :0)
Potty training means carring extra clothes just like when they were new born. Trust me you will only be carrying them around for a week or two. Those plastic pants make sensitive children break out just like the pull ups.
