Since when is it ok to bring your child's potty chair everywhere? I have seen parents wearing their child's potty chair like a purse in places such as RESTAURANTS where people are EATING and synagogues!!!! I have potty trained successfully without hauling my child's waste receptacle into public; when did parents begin to lose any sense of decorum??? Thoughts?

I've never seen that, thankfully. Apparently you've run into some people who were never taught manners.

We are currently potty-training our eldest child. At home, the kids have their own bathroom, so there is a potty chair with steps set up at all times. We have a small seat for him for going out. It is kept in a plastic bag and put in the diaper bag. I'm guessing that the parents that haul the entire seat with them do not have a second baby. Our potty seat is in the diaper bag hidden from view. I go out alone quite often and could not imagine trying to get 2 small children, a diaper bag and a potty chair into places. However, I never sat my child's potty chair in the living room. There are plenty of products that will allow a child to sit on an adult toilet without falling in and without that product being in public view at all times.

It's not okay, it's gross. Maybe they should by a bowling ball bag and toss it in there...it would be far more discrete and sanitary.

Wow!! I've never seen that. I am with you on that, I don't think it's appropriate. I managed to train without dragging a potty chair everywhere.
