My daughter is 23 months old. I started her on the potty 4 months ago, I wanted her to have pleanty of time getting used to it before we made the transition. Now I am realizing it was me that needed the time. Is it too early for the change from diapers to potty. She loves to use it as a potty but only used it for poop twice the first month. Now I am worried because it has been 3 months and I cannot seem to get her to poop in it. Any suggestion on my situation.

Lisa is on to something.. I'd forgotten we'd done that with our daughter too... It doesn't work with all kids, but at least rewarding for the pee will be more encouragement to poo

Apple juice is the best laxative on little bodies... But pooping in the potty is something that takes a lot of time... For a child, it's like losing a part of themselves. That's a very scary thing, and most children will become constipated as a refusal to poop in the potty. My advice is to simply let her use diapers at night. Most children don't night time train at the same time as day time training anyway. Night time control is something that develops much later as they learn the sensations and learn control over the correct muscle groups.

My daughter potty trained at about 2 1/2... (We tried just before she turned two but had an unfortunate incident with an automatic flusher... *try putting post its over the sensor to avoid any major meltdowns with auto-potties*) It wasn't until 3 1/2 that she night time trained, but those first few months were difficult.

Don't push her to poop. Just let her continue to use the diaper or pull ups for that. She'll learn on her own that its ok to "put the poopie in the potty"... With my daughter we did "show" her how to push the poopie... We held our arms close to our bodies and pretended to strain really hard while telling her to "push the poopie in her bottom"... It was fun and made her more comfortable on the potty... But ultimately it will be up to her as to when she poops in the potty. Don't rush her, or she could regress and not want anything to do with the potty at all.

I know it's hard... (I'm not looking forward to potty training my son lol)... But be patient.
