i am going to start pt-ing my son (he's 2.5) and i am just wondering if i should just start with a seat for the toilet or start with a potty. i'm leaning towards the seat, due to having very little room in our bathroom, and having a huge son lol (he looks like he's 3.5!)

what route did you all go?

My son used a seat for the potty, however, my daughter used a potty chair. My son was fully potty trained at 18 months and my daughter still has accidents, she is 3 1/2. It all depends on your child. Most potty chairs you get now have the detachable seat to make "transition" onto the toilet easier, some even have the base be the stool.

I got potty's for all 3 of my kids and niether of my boys would use them. They only wanted the big potty so we used the seats on that. The potty I bought all 3 times the seat portion would detach and could be used on the big potty. Get a little step stool though. My youngest son had a real hard time pooping if his feet were dangling. He needed to brace his feet on the stool in order to go.

I started with a potty but my son just did not like it. Then I switched over to the seat for the toilet. I had better success with the seat then the potty. I think it was the feeling of being like the big boys.

I had a potty for my son, he would sit on it, but not go in it. So I just got a seat for the toilet and he's gone pee 3x. It just depends on your kid. Some don't like the potties, some don't like the toilet. If he does like the potty, you could always put it in the living room, or where ever he is most, that way it would be easier for him to go.
