ok job interview tomorrow for management position.

i have not job interviewed in over 7 years!!!

so, it being summer and all:

i have a navy dress with a jacket that has lime green trimming

OR

grey dress pants and a black top

all my pants suits are too big, and LOOK too big on me now that I have lost weight.

plus all my suits are WINTER, lined and/ or wool or heavy materials.

my other option is Khaki pants and a nice top, if I can find some khakis that fit me.

I hate to wear capris or gouchos even tho it is summer... sems unprofessional to me

what would you wear???

I would say a dress or skirt. The more professional you look the better impression you will make. It is better to look too smart than too casual in my opinion.

I say the navy dress! Just late enough in the summer to bring dark blues back a minute and the lime green still keeps it fresh....go for it girl...........good luck:)

If you know the retail store, you could always scout it out and see what the clerks or salespeople are wearing and take it just a notch above that to show you are driven to do well...

Hi Tiffany!

I worked in HR for 10 years. I sugguest Dress for Success! If you want to be the manager dress like the Store Manager. Most retail stores are very casual now, so Khaki pants and a nice top is perfect.

Try to relax and be yourself. Personality goes a long way. Good Luck!

i am comfy in jeans and a tee... cant exactly wear that! LOL!! well i guess navy dress it is. As far as the interview, i am assuming it is one on one, it is for a retail shop, so i guess it will be that way. I have no idea!! I have worked retail most of my life, so I guess I am prepared!! i just want to make a good impression, and idk what their dress code is, so i was trying to go nutral/ powerful... tks ladies!

I'd wear a cotton dress or skirt with a nice shirt. I wore a navy shirt dress to an interview one time. It was for a day care. But definantly wear something your comfortable in. If you're not comfy, it'll show! Good luck!

Wear what you feel most comfortable in. Wear the outfit that gives you confidence. It's the first interview, normally for management you have to do more than one interview. Is it a panel interview, or just one on one? Practice your win/win responses, & practice your 'give me an example of when' etc. Be positive, good luck.

i'd go for the navy dress....if its a nice and simple design then i reckon that would be better...not to over the top but not too casual either....good luck with it....!!!
