Enfamil Next Step Lipil is good. Cow's milk won't constipate her, it would actually do the opposite...she would probably get very loose, acidy bowel, diaper rash etc. I had one on the Next Step Lipil until she was 2 for weight gain. She was only 16 pounds at 1 year and was about 25 when she was 2.

I would give her a different kind of formula if she's never had cows milk before. I would call the on call doc before you do anything and ask what you should give her

My daughter also made the switch at 12 months...I actually havent heard of babies past that drinking formula. try to skip the feed and just give her extra solids. However I dont believe one milk feeding would do any harm

shes had it before once i put about 40 mills in her tube when she was about 11 months and she had it to drink in her cup every now and again, shes had no reactions but i just worried that a whole 280 mills of it would be alot for her to have at one time. yes Sandie she should have been off formula but she needs it for weight gain so i still am using it. im hoping it will come in but ill try and ring my dietitian ask her what i should give but formula does have more calories so maybe ill have to go get a tin

I would think she would have been able to be off formula by this time anyway , maybe I am just outdated as it is a long time since i have fed a small child ( my baby is 24 ) but my kids at 14 months were on cows milk. They came off formula at 12 months. Not being used to cows milk a straight swap over would probably be not recommended unless it has also been used in other foods the baby may already be having like custards etc

I would look for another formula til that comes in, get some juice to substitute a few feedings, feed her enough cereal/fruits/veggies to fill her up, and that should help. Cows milk is not going to entirely hurt, but if you do use it, give her a little bit to start with, and i would continue, she eventually will need to go on regular milk anyways - but do it gradually. Ive been close to running out of formula myself, or getting low, so i make sure to feed my babies as much as possible and give them juice and even water (sometimes they are just thirsty rather than hungry) a day isnt going to hurt her weight - take care

I am pretty sure you aren't supposed to give babies cows milk because it is to hard to digest and it could cause food alergies later in life. I would try to get some kind of formula any kind will be better than milk.

I would call my pediatrician and not use cows milk. I would get a different kind like Stacy said earlier.

Cows milk is very hard for young babies to digest, but its ok to give a 12mth old cows milk. It should be vitamin d though for the fat and calories.

i would not use cows milk if she's never had it before, esp if she has weight problems. do you have ANYTHING else you can give her?? go to the store and buy a small can of a different type of formula until you can get the other kind again. i would not give her cows milk.
