Rash on face after eating citrus?

my youngest sister had the same reaction with raspberries when she was a toddler, after the first reaction my mom took her to the doctor and had an allergy test done, turns out she is allergic to raspberries, and has been since then, just avoid the citrus, dont put anything on it, and get an allergie test done

First of all, she is allergic to citrus fruits, second you should not put anything on the rash. Don't give her any citrus. She might grow out of the dairy and citrus allergies by the time she starts school.

My son is Dairy intolerant and also potato, corn, tomato, apple, wheat and CITRUS. Orange is high in a natural chemical called Salicylate. It is chemically related to aspirin, which is derived from salycylic acid. Although natural salicylates are found in wholesome foods, some people have difficulty tolerating even small amounts. Symptoms of salicylate intolerance are urticaria (itchy rash), eczema, asthma, sinusitis, stomach upsets/aches. Avoid citrus for 3 months then re-introduce sensitive fruits only one day in four.

No, she has not been tested for allergies but it is seeming more and more like something I need to do, with dairy and citrus out, it may be a good idea. Do I just go to a regular doctor for that?

Good suggestion to not give it to her anymore, because I would hate for a more sever reaction. I have heard of that too but didn't think of it now. Thanks:)

I never thought of washing her really well after she eats it, I do wipe her up, but may not be enough.

Even if she eats it in the morning she has the rash for hours (even using the coconut oil) during the day.

Yes, she does have sensitive skin, she is a red head. Both my red heads have sensitive skin.

I don't think I'd give her anymore citrus fruits. I know that kind kills the healthy eating thing, but sometimes allergies get worse the more the person is exposed to the allergen. I'd watch for swelling of her throat/face/hands. She may start with a rash now, but sometimes allergies can cause a constricted airway. Has she been tested for other allergies?

Sounds like she has really sensitive skin. My nephew's skin used to get irritated with citrus juice. I'm assuming that the rash is occurring because of the juice's contact with the skin, especially since it goes away after you've applied a moisturizer. With my nephew, we just had to be very quick about washing his face after he ate citrus. That usually took care of the worst of it. You've got it under control! :-)

Yes I have, my daughter reacts to citrus but in the form of a diaper rash. She is also lactose intolorent. Her dad and grandma also react to too much citrus. With my daughter, it goes away by itself. I found that she can have small amounts and not react, but too much and she breaks out, just like her dad and grandma. So my guess is that you will have to watch her citrus intake for awhile, but lets hope I'm wrong.
