Red hair/strawberry blonde kids... Change or stay as they got older?

My husband and I both have dark hair. I am italian and he is half italian - we have 3 kids.. strawberry blondes and everyone in our families thinks that their hair is going to become darker? I really don't care what color my childrens hair is all and all but their red and blonde hair is so beautiful and I'd hate to see it go so I'm just curious if any moms had strawberry blondes or red heads as young kids and did it stay or change as they got older?

I think the usual way is light hair as a toddler, then darkening as they get older. My hair was very light as a baby, honey blonde as a child, and it darkened until my mid-20s. I'm now a medium brown. My husband was white-blonde even as a kid but now has dark brown hair. My friend's child has strawberry blonde hair, too. (mom is yellow-blonde even all grown up, dad has red hair) and I can already tell a difference from when she was born and she's only two. Much less red, more dirty blonde, but still with reddish highlights.

I'm curious too! Genetics are funny. When her hair grew in was it dark? what age did it start going blonde?

I wonder the same thing too with my daughter cause she had dark hair at birth, lost it all, then grew hair in, it was quite dark, then as it got longer went blonde. As her hair is growing longer it is getting blonder. I am curious to see how she'll end up!

They were blonde too I believe, at least in the old pics they look that way!

Thanks Sarah! What color were your eye brows? were they darker ? Do you remember if your brothers eye brows were darker as well, Stephanie? all three have the same color eye brows as their hair and I heard that can be a way to tell what the hair color will be in the future but I also heard thats not often true.

My hair was WHITE until I was about 5-6 then it went dark. It's a medium-dark brown now.

I have an older brother and when he was younger his hair was so blonde that it practically looked snow white, but now that he is older like in his 20:s he has brown hair. I hope that answers your question. Have a wonderful evening!
