Removing stains from baby clothing

Does anyone have suggestions of how removing sun dried and ironed clothing that are stained by food? I've tried Vanish and Asda Oxy powder over night as well as washing the clothing on 40 degrees C.

I've tried to keep my daughter's clothing nice as she wears them for quite a few months as she is small for her age. My mil doesn't always check if the stains are gone before she irons the clothes. I've tried to say something to her about checking the clothing before she irons, but she goes ahead anyway. The one time I said I didn't want our clothes ironed, I got told she wasn't going to let us walk out of the house with creased clothes. *sighs*

Anyways, any suggestions would be great.

I haven't had to try it - but Sol-U-Mel by Melaleuca has been a life saver for me in many situations in my home. I just used it to remove hair dye from my white cabinet door that my daughter and friend accidently did not paying attention or clowning around while dying their hair (and of course they did it while I wasn't home); and then tried to cover it up with white paint. There is a $1.00 membership June 16-30, which is a great opportunity to get in and save! Melaleuca provides safe and good products for the family.

My daughter is 15 months old, but she is still wearing clothing ranging from 3-6 months to 9 to 12 months. She doesn't wear any clothing for her age as she is tiny.

Anyways, I will try the Oxy Clean. Next time I will try the liquid soap on the greasy stain. Thank you for all the replies.

If its a greasy stain, even set in and been through the dryer several times, I rub Dawn dish soap into the stain. Works like a charm.

It's fuuny how we all have different standards. I am with you; I want stain free clothes. I know others who will iron. And I know a few that will allow their child to wear designer labels only.
We can not make others see our point of view :) I know, I have tried.
Maybe be excited that she loves this child enough to want her clothes ironed and looking nice as her generation defined nice?
Maybe get some of the stick form of 'spray and wash' and put it on the stains as soon as you undress your baby? That way the stain remover is on when the clothes go in the hamper. That stick on stuff can be on the clothes for a few days, and really works.

Your best bet would be to take it off right away and rinse immediatly like suggested, but you could go through a lot of clothes that way.

To be honest I never found Vanish any good, I've tried the spray, the in wash one, the ones with added oxy action (or whatever way they word it) both togehter and the stains it has got out have been minimal. Might try oxy clean, thanks for the tip :)

Oxy clean works well, sometimes they have to soak up to a week with old stains. I have also found if I take the outfit off after they are done eating and spray in the yard on grass with a high pressure water hose that only caughst a few dollars at walmart, the stain comes out in seconds.

We use the tide or oxy clean packet things. they are kind of spendy but yuo use them with detergant also. I am not sure if they will bother skin on a young baby, i didn't find them til our son was over 2. but honestly that stuff takes everythign out. After being ironed though....hmmm i don't know. *smerk* I didn't know people still ironed everyday stuff.............. ;)

I've put vanish on before washing and some in the wash as well. Some of the stains is from baby food and some is from regular table food. Thank you for the reply.

By baby I guess you mean those pots of ready made baby food? In which case I could never get them out. If they're small you could sew a small motif or something over them?

I find that some foods still stain clothes, and unfortunately once they're washed the stain is probably embedded for good. You need to use Vanish etc BEFORE you wash them...
