Rice or Oatmeal Cereal?

I have been feeding my twins rice cereal from a spoon for about 2 weeks. They are doing well. However, one of my girls only poops every 2-3 days (it is soft when she goes) and I don't want the rice to further complicate the problem. Is oatmeal cereal less constipating? Is it worth the extra money to buy the organic cereal?

. . . or should I just put a little Karo syrup in her bottle to get things moving?

If she is constipated I would try either Karo syrup or prune juice. Maybe her body just hasnt adjusted to it fully.

karo syrup will help but i would mix a little prun juice or even the apples & prun baby food with her cereal or her bottle it'll help her go.

Oatmeal cereal is MUCH less constipating. I strongly suggest switching to oatmeal before giving karo syrup or paying extra for organic.

How old are they? Our son got oatmeal cereal at 4 or 5 months I believe.

I'd try the Karo, but if she's going regularly and it's not hard don't worry too much about it.

I was told to keep on rice for a few months, its the easiest on their tummies. Oatmeal is harder to digest, a more complex food. I wouldn't bother with organic myself, because organic has only restrictions ( personal preference for me) You can add karo, it will work. I added a tiny bit of apple juice ( 100% juice) to my sons bottle. He usually pooped with in a few hours. Some babies just don't go as often.
