I need help with figuring out rules and boundaries for a child who will be 4 in March. She is my fiance's emotionally adopted daughter and right now he lets her get away with everything. I think all children do better with boundaries and rules.

I am thinking please and thank you. No going into the kitchen without an adult. Things like that. Also she needs to sleep in her own bed and doesn't need to be carried everywhere. She is not potty trained and her mom is making no effort in doing so. We have her every weekend but it is hard to potty train her here like we have been doing and when she goes back to her mom's she gets put back into a pull up.

you are right... what types of problems are you having? what rules and boundaries do YOU feel should be in place? #1 ruleshould be hands to yourself. #2 respect adults #3 sit at table whne eating with family #4 clean up your mess.
