It is normal for a 1 month old to sleep for 16-20 hours per day. At 3 mo most babies are sleeping 14-16 hours out of 24.

The problem with schedules and very young babies is that you have to constantly adjust the schedule to suit the babies naturally changing sleeping and feeding patterns. So you can't expect the same schedule to work for more than 3-4 weeks. As they get older you can keep the same schedule for a couple of months before they change it on you. Follow your babies lead and she will show you what she needs. She might have a cold but more likely I think her patterns are just changing.

Actually I take that back... everything I said is true but I just looked at your post with her schedule and now I'm certain she is getting over-tired and finding it difficult to go to sleep at night. She is napping like a 7-9 month old!

Most 1 mo need a nap after 1 hour of being awake, 1.5 hours is the absolute MAX until about 3 months old. Try putting her to sleep as soon as you see the first tired sign (remember yawning is a sign of over-tiredness at this age so the first yawn means "quick get to bed!"). I dont want to tell you things you already know so let me know if you need some info on early tired signs.

well her schedule is/was



4 am feeding

8 am feeding (shes up)

9-11nap

1130 feeding

12-2 playtime

2 feeding

3-5 nap

5 feeding

5-7 playtime

7or 8 feeding

830-9 bathtime (not everyday)

9-930 bed



but now she wont go to sleep til like 11-12

1st time mom here, my son is about to be one on feb 14 (vday). anywho, Gregory schedule changed depending on the weather and how much energy he had. at 3 months he started sleeping in 5 hr shifts at night and lost 2 of his naps, by 6 months he started getting up earlier, took back an extra nap and went to bed later. now Greg (11 months) gets up between 6-9am, has a bottle, plays and takes a nap between 9-noon (30 mins long). hes up again for more destruction throughout the house knockin everything he can over. wait til they learn how to make a sad face, its a memory you wont forget! He fights through the 2pm nap, and the sometimes the 6-9pm nap. When hes finally asleep that late at night, we usually wake him back up at 11pm, and hes up for about a hour but then hes out til morning.

It could also mean that she is growing. Babies and small children tend to sleep more and eat more when they are going threw a spurt.

She could be going into a growth period. My boy did the same thing at about a month old, he started going to sleep at 8ish and wake up at 7ish. I would try to walk him up but he wouldn't. So just let her sleep, she is needing it. If you are worried about a cold, watch her temp and if she is eating normally.

mine normally nap threw out the day never for very long may half an hour at the most and they sleep threw the night as well babies need to sleep in order to record information that they are picking up and sleeping also helps them grow the health visitor told me a baby should sleep about 16 hours period so say around 8 hours a night if you are lucky and the rest in day time naps but keep and eye on her if you are worried that she is coming down with a cold

My daughter is 3 mo old and she started sleeping through the night(4-6 hrs at a time) from the time she was a month old. Sometimes for some reason or another, her schedule changes and she winds up going to bed really early or sleeping extra late in the morning and although this can be due to coming down with a cold, it is also normal for some babies. Some babies just never get the idea of a "schedule" down and mine must be one of them....I would talk to your pediatrician if you feel like she is getting a cold..they would be able to tell you for sure.....
