Should I get my kids the the swine flu vaccine since it's already been thru their school ?

thanks judy! glad to see there is an alternative. i've been nervous about getting my son done since he is only one and having heard all the controversial roles that flu shots play have been nervous for him to get it.

I work in the medical field and we ahad a meeting a couple weeks ago. All of the Dr's said children need the vaccine worse than anyone, but they won't get their children vaccined. They will however do the nasal spray vaccine for them. There's something in the vaccine that they said could harm a young child,... so if you get one get the nasal spray,.. if they tell you all they have is the vaccine,. tell them your child can't eat eggs and they have to give the nasal spray,.......... Hope it helps.

I asked my doctor the same question yesterday and she said that she thought we should still be vaccinated. The problem is that because the testing kits ran low, or out in some areas, there is no way to know for sure if children had H1N1 or another flu.

It's a question that everyone is asking at this time. In the end, it is up to you. There are good things and bad things associated with this vaccine. I work directly with people with the flu as i'm a nurse so I definitally got it but I'm still not sure if I should get my kids vaccinated. The research on this vaccine is not done since it was mass produced so quickly so nobody knows what will happen if our kids get it but on the other hand, some people who do get the swine flu get really sick and I know that if my kids got sick I would blame myself forever. It's a gamble we all have to take and in the end, whatever happens with what you decided, you did your best.

Did they already get the shot through the school? If they did then I wouldn't do it again.
