For the last 2 weeks my son has been drooling, grumpier than usual & gnawing on his hands non stop!! I felt his gums and the bottom center gums were rough. I'm not sure if that means anything. Please help!

my second 2 sons both cut their first tooth at 4 months so they were fussy on and off for a while before that. 6 months is the usual for first teeth but they can come anywhere either side of that!

just remember that at that age all babies are drooly and gnawing on hands, regardless of teething. but if he's extra fussy, it's possible. It's pretty easy to notice when teeth are cutting through (it feels a little sharp), but for some babies it's before they cut that is very painful. Give him a frozen wet washcloth or refrigerated teething rooms. there are also teething tablets that work (a lot of moms and doctors suggest not using the orajel on babies so young).

Usually not that early but certainly not impossible...you can soothe it by letting him/her chew on a cool teething ring .

I've always used one of those mesh-feeders (for solids) and put an ice cube in there. My little one always loved it

My boy started fussing like he was teething at about 2 months, but didn't cut his first tooth until almost 6 months. I found some cool toys that have a rubber type outside edge with a washcloth type animal in the middle. They are thinner that normal teething rings so he could chew on it better, especially at the begining.

he is definitely teething. my LO has 4 teeth now and those are all the signs of teething. Infant Motrin is great for helping with the pain by the way.

My 3 month old is doing the same thing!! I'm going to try to start using teething rings and see if he likes though. He doesn't use pacifiers though so I dont know how he will take to the teething ring. hmm. good luck!!

Every baby is different with they're developement. My daughter popped her first tooth on fathers day last year, she was 7 mos old, the next day another. Then they just all started coming in.. I was told alot of times they're teeth will shift up and down for a while until they finally break the skin. I would just keep her comfortable with the highlands all-natural tablets. They dissolve easiely and work instantly.

All 3 of my children cut their first tooth around 3 months old. He may be teething as well. Good luck!

my son's first tooth broke thru at three months...makes breast feeding interesting! No worries. We loved the homeopathic teething tabs sold at our local health food store! Wash clothes kept damp and in the fridge were releaving for him, too....

watch out for whiteness in the gums and if u can give him sommat hard to chomp on itll help break the skin. u'll be able to tell when the teeth are cutting. my lil girl started teething at 3 months and first tooth dint come through till she was 9 months but her back teeth came thru first which was painfull for her so nearly a year of tubes of bonjella and no sleep they came .. good luck xx
