Okay so my 9 month old son has been sick for a week now, here is the story
last Friday- went to a playdate, came home noticed he was a lil stuffy
Saturday- still a lil stuffy, used lil noses saline and aspirator, still seemed in a good mood and was eating fine
Sunday- woke up @ 4am to a fever of 104, gave him baby advil to break the fever it went down and then for the next 3 days it fluctuated between 101-104 went to the hospital b/c Monday we couldnt get it down, spent the day there, they said he's just fighting off a virus and to keep doing what we are doing. This is when he started eating alot less, no solids and all his milk he was projectile vommiting, so we gave him pedyialite and juice and water... he hates anything but formula so we were having a very hard time getting him to take any fluids, so we began using a dropper to get him to drink, b/c he wasn't peeing and was becoming dehydrated.
Tuesday -- fever broke, still not drinking enough fluids but a little bit more, still no solids, other then bread, a lil stuffy but not as bad
Wednesday- drinking more back to formula ( only 5: 4oz bottles over a 24 hour period, still not peeing as much and diarrhea began ( bright pastel yellow about 4-5 times a day also projectile vomitting twice
Thursday - exactly the same as Weds
Friday-- went to the doctor, he said everything is fine, more then likely is gastreonosis (sp?) and to continue giving fluids, but still having huge issues drinking anything but formula, and when he even sees his sippy cup or a bottle of something other then milk he starts crying so hard he throws up. He has lost over 2lbs this week.
Today- still diarrhea, still vommitting, got him to drink a lil more formula today 24 oz( threw up twice) but still no solids
My son normally eats about 30 ounces of formula a day and 3 meals ( equiv to about a jar and a half of veggies and a jar of fruit plus yogurt in the am and puffs during the day and rusks, Im not used to having to force him to take anything, also he has only been sick once before and only for 3 days, he seems happy and content and is still laughing and playing and sleeping on schedule, so the doctor is not worried, but the diarrhea and vommiting, plus loss of appetite is stressing me out big time, am I overreacting , is this normal, when should he be getting better???
Anyone gone through this with there baby before??
