Sick...help!

The last week I have felt so sick. Mostly lethargic, and sick to my stomach. My doctor called in some medication for me and I took some yesterday.

We had gone to an amusement park(don't worry I didn't ride anything)my back hurt so bad and my legs just ached. As soon as we walked in the door I started vomiting. And haven't stopped. I am trying to drink a lot, and rest, but last night was one of the longest in my life. Every hour I had to get up to go to the bathroom and then puke.I had a fever until about 6 this morning. I am congested and my throat hurts. My back still hurts so badly. I am only 8 weeks pregnant, and I am so worried that something is wrong....Please help

drink lots of flat lemonade that wiull keep your fluids up and u should be able to keep it down....just drink it very slowly, sip by sip

I would call my Ob or primary and seek further assesment! Not to question what you should do!

It takes about 24 hours for an antibiotic to start working. So if the doctor gave you something already, has it had a chance to work?

If you are concerned then definately go to the doctor! It may be nothing other than morning sickness but even so its always better to be safe than sorry!

I wish I had some words of wisdom, but all I can say is I also felt MISERABLE during both pregnancies and both kids ended up being fine, I just felt horrible for almost my whole pregnancies... i'm sooo glad I ended up getting my tubes tied after our daughter was born... don't get me wrong I LOVE my son and daughter more than life, but if I had to go through another pregnancy I don't think my body could handle it!! Just hang in there and if you keep feeling worse go see your doc and explain everything to him/her... I'm afraid that's all the advice I have for you... GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi Sarah, I'm so sorry you are feeling so miserable. If your fever has gone down, that's a good sign, but the backache and continued vomiting are a worry because of dehydration and exhaustion (because you ache so much). Since you are also congested and have a sore throat it sounds as though you may have caught a serious cold or flu. If you are really worried because you are so early in the pregnancy I would definitely talk to your doctor or go into the emergency room in your area (I always vote with better safe than sorry, especially when pregnant). There are a lot of medications that you can get for vomiting/pain that will not harm the baby. I was super sick like this with my first baby and it turned out that it was just a major cold, but because I was pregnant, the symptoms hit me really hard. Other than seeing your doctor/emergency room, try to rest if you can, and try to get lots of fluids into yourself. Hope you start feeling better soon.

if you are still felling like this then i myself would go to the hospital or back to a doctor (best be a different one to the one you have already seen)

better to be safe then sorry as they say
