we are moving in about 5+ months and all the places that we could be moving into have the bedroom doors right around the stairs . the only way to make sure our daughter doesnt get hurt at night would be to shut her door to her room well shes in bed the problem with this is shes never had this and it scares her when you do shut her door .. she has a night light in her room what else can we do to make this better for her??

see we thought about putting ti in her door way but the problem is if she climbs it or pushes it down she will fall down the stairs because the bedroom door is only about a foot away from the stairs since its only a 5 foot by 5 foot landing right there closet door in the middle bedrrom doors on either side then the stairs

If it scares you, you can get a baby gate that secures to the walls, and you can step on a pedal to walk through it. Its nice because anyone under the weight of like 50# can't open them. so you know she won't fall down them, yet the adults can move through easily.

my two both sleep with the door shut the youngest never had a problem, but my older one was worried at first but i would just say to make sure if she cries or yells to go in there to let her know that you are always there if she needs you, my oldest has no problem with it at all now they do get used to it!

if you dont want to get a gate for the top of your stairs you get one for her bedroom door so that you can keep her door opened but still know that she is okay.

We live in a house with stairs, and we had child gates both at the top and the bottom of the stairs when our kids were small so we can make it safe whether they were either upstairs or downstairs. The other alternative is a gate in the bedroom doorway.

We had a child gate across the doorway for a long time - there are some that bolt right into the frame, so until she's old enough to climb over it (and safe on stairs) it should be fine.
