My 3 year old is very shy around other kids. She has no siblings, has never been in daycare, etc. I don't have many friends who have kids around her age. Are there any good places or events that would help her to interact with kids her own age and develop social skills?

September gives a good sources of socialization. Also try some mommy and me groups. Join the YMCA they usually have classes just for toddlers and last but not least there is always church groups.

Play groups, toddler open gyms (community center usually offer these types of things as well as other activities for toddlers), hang out with friends that do have children, make new friends with children, take him to the park where other toddlers are playing, give pre-school at try or even a day or two of daycare.
