my 10 month old daughter just got a sinus infection and the doctor prescribed amoxicillin, turns out, she's allergic. She has hives ALL OVER HER BODY! Is there anything that I can put in her bath or something to soothe the rash?

It really helped my daughter last night.....good luck! I also applied a lotion called Uremol 20 for itchy and extremely dry skin and she finally stopped scratching herself......thank goodness!

Take care

My mom and brother are both anemic......my mom especially, she really struggles with it!

Good luck! Glad the doc was able to give you some answers at least!

Leoney, I certainly hope it works and also that your doctor is monitoring you extremely closely. All liver infections are quite serious, so if you worsen in any way (the whites of your eyes start looking yellow, you get odd bumps on your skin, or you itch even more or get diarrhea) go to the doctor immediately. It does make sense that your itching is worse combined with allergies and a liver infection, as both cause severe itching. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Thanks alot Amy!! I had a look at your link which was interesting; but I don't think it's PUPPS.
I went to see my doctor today and I had both a blood & urine test done and it's seem I have a slight liver infection, Anaemia & Hay-fever. The doctor said my allover itching is caused by a mixture of infection in the liver and Hay-fever both trying to fight eachother (i've never heard of that before)...Anyway i've been given antihistamines, moisturiser & iron suppliments and was told to try them and see if it works, if not there is no other treatment I can take that is safe in pregnancy.

Yah! What Amy said! LOL! But I bet an oatmeal bath would definitely be soothing! Certainly couldn't hurt!?!

Good luck!

Hmm I wonder...I am 32 weeks pregnant and I can't stop itching, I had a rash and that went months ago but the itching is still really bad. Midwife has suggested a menthol moisturiser but that didn't work and I was given a steroid cream by my doctor which also didn't work.

I was thinking maybe Oatmeal would help based on the hives convo???

Thank you guys so much!!! I just gave her an oatmeal bath. I've been giving her benadryl since this morning (.25 tsp every 6 hours)... I am going to be going to the store tomorrow to get some Aveno for her since our grocery store is closed at 3 on Sunday's and the closest place that would have it that's open is an hour away...

Yup, baby Benadryl.....I would get specific instructions about the dosage as I'm not familiar when they're that young?!!

Like Amy said, an oatmeal bath.......Aveeno Baby makes a great " Soothing Baby Bath Treatment " with natural colloidal oatmeal! I just bought it for my daughter.......for soothing relief of dry, itchy, irritated skin due to: dry skin . rashes. diaper rash. chicken pox. eczema. insect bites. and poison ivy/oak......I'm reading the box! LOL!

Good luck!

Oatmeal bath (put it in a nylon sock and soak in the tub a couple minutes). Hydrocortisone cream (over the counter) provided she doesn't have any open sores from scratching. If she does, don't put the cream near it. Aveeno oatmeal lotion.
