There could be a number of things that I can think of (ranging from insignificant to not so significant)- all of which come with the same advice - see a doctor! The pain is your bodies way of telling you something is wrong so listen and find out what it is.

thanks they did run two pregnancy tests. the second was a formal one so took an hour to come back and sent me home with a letter so i could come back if necessary or go to my GP, but they (and me now) ar thinking it may just be period pain. i think it will get better now im in more pain from the two bruised arms from them stuffing up my needles dont think my daughter quite gets why im being so careful picking her up

Sounds like it could be an appendicitis. Go and get it checked! That's serious if not treated...if it burst it could poison you.

Quoting Marie:

Melissa - Even if you went to ER, please follow up with your OB/GYN. Like several ladies who have posted on here, I too had an ectopic pregnancy on my right side, and had the exact same symptoms you had. As also mentioned on here, it could be a number of other things. And doctors in the ER are human and miss things. If you continue to have these symptoms, please make sure you get re-checked!

I was very fortunate and did not lose my tube - but I credit myself for advocating for my own body, my doctor for paying attention and God for providing the wisdom! Take care of you!

Actually - I think Dr's in the ER are more likely than others to miss things because they tend to be the most overstretched in their workloads. Great for an emergency but not the best for indepth discussion on an unknown and (what they view as) non-life-threatening problems.

Hi Melissa, I don't want to frighten you, but this happened to me 7yrs ago I didn't think I was pregnant as I was told I couldn't have anymore, it turned out I was 9weeks pregnant and it was ectopic, (i really hope this isn't the case with you hun), please get to your doctor asap and have this checked out as mine burst on the op table. PLease Please get to doc or emergency dept at hospital. You may even get a negative result on preg test!! Take Care, let me know how you get un hun, good luck, Sharon x

don't stuff around with this, if it is ectopic it can be life threatening...go to emergency. I almost died from an ectopic pregnancy. Don't worry about feeling like a panic merchant, it is better to be safe than sorry. All the best. X

i cant get into the doc today i did ring health direct and they told me to go to emergency within 4 hours i believe thats extreme and i just can take that advice as im not willing to drag my daughter out. its only slight pain and ive been told by a nurse friend it is too low down to be appendix. i have been suggested about the ectopic pregnancy (sorry im unsure of spelling), im going to grab a pregnancy test when my daughetr wakes just to be sure but i kind of dont want to be disappointed or waste the money. if its negative i will see when i can get into a doctor. all your advice has really been helpful but im getting my hopes up about the possibility of pregnancy, even if im most likely going to be shut down

I would go to the OBGYN asap. I had spotting and lower body pain and it was a ectopic pregnancy, I was 8 weeks pregnant.

When I first got pregnant, I had a really light period through my first month of when I would normally ovulate. I was really freaked out about it. I knew I was pregnant, but thought I might lose the child. Luckily I had the best obgyn. She just had a child and went through the same thing her first month of pregnancy. She said that it is totally normal for women to see some blood during when their body would normally ovulate. The obgyn was freaked out as well when it happened to her, even though her and her husband are both gynos. They took ultrasound after ultrasound to make sure she was alright.

My advice to you is not to stress about it yet, but do call your obgyn.

Kristen, please don't tell her she's pregnant, she may not be and then all you're doing is setting her up for disappointment. You can't diagnose anything from generic symptoms....

Melissa, make an appointment. It could be any of the things people have listed on here: appendix, burst tube, ovarian cysts, etc. I'm not gonna say that it is definitely not pregnancy, I don't know, but pain and spotting (even in small amounts) is normally not a good sign even if you are pregnant so the best thing you can do is go to the doctor and take good care of yourself...you'll know the next step from there. Keep us updated, I'll be praying for you.

Go to the doctor for sure! I had 2 sharp pains in the same area and turned out to be a pregnancy in my right tube. They removed my tube and everything was fine but this can be life threatening. (same symptoms for appendix) Don't worry about feeling stupid for worrying, only you know your body and if something isn't right. Besides, it makes it that much nicer when they tell you everything is fine.

It could be anything from you just ovulating or an ovarian cyst. I've had problems with ovarian cysts in the past, and I would get the pain only when i moved or pressed down on it. I would take a pregnancy and ovulation test to rule those out and call your doctor to do an ultrasound.

I would go get checked - the liklyness of ovulation is slight - be sure to find out whether its a cyst, or even possibly a tubal pregnancy -- kidney stone is possible too(as someone else mentioned). That's the best advice at this point - get checked.

Look beyond menstrual. Lower right abdomen could be your appendix or a kidney stone.

[deleted account]

If I were you, I would just make a doctor's appointment. That way you can take a test there and if you're not pregant your doctor can help you figure out what's going on. Good luck!

i havent because i was 11 days late last time and dont want the disapointment i guess. when i tried for my daughter first time around i had many times taken tests that came back negative over those 2 years

[deleted account]

Have you taken a pregnancy test? It could be from implantation. Or maybe you could be ovulating. If the pain doesn't go away see your doc to make sure it's not a cyst or something.
