My daughter was born with a pelvic kidney. It's not the worst thing in the world, it's more inconvenient then it is serious. Ever since she was born (she's almost three months old now) I have been walking around with this sense of impending doom, it's always in the back of my mind. I feel like any day now the kidney will just stop functioning at which point we will be put into a series of nephronologist appointments where they will be poking and prodding and measuring to get ready for surgery to remove the kidney, which if it stops functioning is the only thing left to do. I feel horrible walking around waiting for it to shut down any second. It's stressful and makes me feel like a pessimist. Has anybody else carried the impending doom burden? Have you ever gotten it off your back?
