i feel that tanning makes then stand out especially when they are not as new, because then they turn white...and they dont tan...and it will be like chalk on a black board...

I have used Garnier body tonic and palmers cocoa butter stretch mark cream and the 2 of them have reduced my marks and made my belly tighter aswell. but i have came to terms with the fact that my body wont be the same as it used to and its a reminder of what i have gone through to bring my 2 beautiful girls into this world. wouldnt change it for anything

My husband is very sweet about it....he says they are the mark of a true woman! I love him for that. I wish I had a magic answer, if you come up with anything that is non invasive and won't cause skin cancer, let me know! :)

Sexy is on the inside. Besides, they're not stretch marks, they're battle scars!
The truth is you can do things to reduce the *appearance* of stretch marks (tanning - fake please, no need to give yourself skin cancer over this, retin-A, possibly vitamin E, etc), but you can't actually get rid of them without skin re-surfacing.
I will say I tried the palmer's stuff (I figured a little moisturization couldn't hurt anyway) while pg and got stretch marks anyway. It's really controlled by genetics and how fast you gain weight towards the end.

Vitamin E cream worked great for me after my first pregnancy (I used it throughout the pregnancy and after); I also used it this pregnancy, but I was much bigger this time in the belly area, so am also trying Mederma around my belly button where they are more evident. My father in law said it worked wonders for him after his liver transplant so he got it for me for my c-section incision. Good luck!
