Hi there all I am about to have my first child here in about 3 months. Last December I was in a car accident that cause some serious damage to my dominate arm. I have already had two surgeries to try and correct it, but the Doc's are saying that I will need another one in the next month otherwise I could loose the use of my wrist and the last two fingers on my left hand. I am scared for some many reasons, surgery was bad enough when I wasn't pregnant, painful and all the drugs the had me on. But now there planning on doing this when I am 7 months, and this surgery is more invasive than the last two. I am looking for anyone who may have gone through something similar, and how the coped. Also because I will still be in a cast after my son is born I am looking for any helpful suggestions on breastfeeding comfortably, cause its what I really wanna do, but not entirely sure on how its going to work out for me. Thanks all!

Quoting Joy:

I've never been in your situation but I don't see how they are going to be able to do any surgery on you while you're pregnant. When I was pregnant the last time, I couldn't even find a dentist that would do an xray on me, much less any kind of oral surgery. Are they putting you to sleep for the surgery?

Hey Joy, Well I didnt understand it at first, but apparently if they don't get this done asap my Ulnar nerve is damaged and it will most likely cause perminate damage. Yes they will be putting me under....so thats why I am so concerned. Thanks for your imput though. =o)
