hello all... my son is almost 3 months old and i was thinking about switching his bottles. right now, he uses the kind with the liners. the ones i'm switching him to are the evenflo purely comfi. i'm just sick of buying liners and would like to switch to bottles that i don't have to use them. i have 2 questions... 1. anyone who uses the evenflo purely comfi, how do you like them? 2. how has it been for people who have switched to different bottles around this age? i've heard that some babies won't change b/c they're use to that certain nipple and they just won't take the new bottle b/c it's different. i'm hoping that's not the case with him and he takes to them just as easily. the nipple is much smaller and a different shape. just wanted to get some of your experiences. thanks!!

When I first started to give my LO breastmilk in bottles, we used Avent bottles, he did just fine and transitioned back and forth from breast to bottle great. Now that he is 7 months old and wants to hold his bottle himself, we use Playtex Ventair because the angle makes it easier for him to hold up, but we still use the Avent bottles. He also drinks juice out of Nuk bottles. So, all I can say is that you will have to play with it a little, sometimes they switch between bottles just fine and other times, not so much. It is all about what he wants and likes. I would suggest trying a few different kinds of bottles to see what he likes the best. I would try to get a bottle that has a nipple that is similar to the drop in bottles that you were using before, that way it is more "normal" for him and he is least likely to not reject.

Hope this helps!!

We found out with our son, that you can never know what bottle they will take to. Our son (3 now) tried almost every bottle and his spit up was out of control. Finally, he took to the Dr. Brown's bottles and his spit-up calmed down. We saved them all for our daughter (10 weeks now) and she had the worst gas with them. Now, we use Playtex bottles VentAire and she is doing great. The key is to buy two or three and see how he does. She frowned at me when we first changed over, but took to them just fine.

I don't know about the Evenflo Purely Comfi, but my daughter was using evenflo's (the cheap supermarket ones) and did just fine on them. They're a really simple easy bottle.

As far as changing nipples, you may check to see if you can use the same nipples on a different bottle. If the liner bottles you have now are the Playtex, check out the Playtex bottles that don't use liners. It'll have the same nipple so your son won't be upset about that. You may find a different bottle that has a similar nipple shape, as well.
