In England you usually stay in hospital with your first child for 2 days so they can see you can cope with the baby and then with subsequent children you have to stay for 6 hours but can go home after that. When you bring the baby home most grandparents want to nip around to see the new arrival and friends come that week. Most people send congratulation cards and bring either flowers or presents for the baby.

As always in England you can wear what you feel comfortable in and do not have to dress in anything specific. My husband always cooked me a full roast dinner so that I was full of vitamins and minerals and spoilt me rotten. I just looked forward to one thing and that was a warm salt water bath to relax in at the end of the day. My half an hour of santuary to sooth stitiches and aches and pains and just enjoy the peace and quite.

In the UK there is no particular tradition. It used to be the case that a couple wouldn't have sex until after 6 weeks, but in more recent times it seems sensible to 'have a go' earlier so that if there are any problems you can talk about it at the 6 week clinic.
