So my kids and 9 and 10. their father is taking them to Disney World next June.

My husband and I will be together 5 years next April and have NEVER gone anywhere with out our kids. Did not even take a honeymoon. So we are looking to go somewhere when they do next year.

But is it right to do so? We have never taken the kids on a big vacation. We plan to but not for a year or so more. I keep feeling like it would be wrong of us to go with out them. Any input would be grate. Thanks

Of course it's ok.... and when they are on their own vacation is a PERFECT time! Enjoy!

Oh my gosh yes, you have every right to take a vacation without your kids. Just think of it as a delayed honeymoon, if that makes you feel better. It's not wrong at all to have some time away from them, especially as they're not exactly babies anymore. My parents went on vacations without us often, and it never occurred to us to be resentful. It was their money, and they had the right to spend it however they pleased.
