Lara, it may be that he's just not ready yet. Did you know that 20% of all children are still wetting the bed to some degree at age 5 (also more common in boys)? It isn't uncommon. He is only 3, there is a possibility he is not ready to go for long streatches without peeing, and his brain is not yet mature enough to wake him up when he needs to go. Just put pull-ups on him at night, and give it some time, rather than getting stressed over it. Certainly, try the no drinks thing, and other tips, but don't stress if they don't work - they don't always. Every kid is different.

And just for your info, I have a step-son who is STILL occasionally wetting the bed at age 11, so all kids are different. At the age of 3, I wouldn't be at all concerned. If he is still having issues when he is 5-6, that is time to see a doctor to rule out any medical issues, but generally, it is just a physical maturity thing.

hi there, i had the same problem, i have 2 boys, 1 in preschool and 1 in school, they are 3 and 5. my 5 year old wetted his bed occasionally, and the 3 year old did it too. i recently decided not to give them any drinks at least 2 hours before bedtime, so when bed time comes, the drink they drank has already been digested, and weed out. it is working for me so far. but occasionally (especially in hot weather) i allow them to have a very smal cup of water 1 hour before bed time. i still wake them up when i go to bed. the boys are going to bed at 8 pm every evening, so when i go to bed (usually around 11 pm or so) they will wee, and they won't wee again until they wake up in the morning at 7 am. occasionally my youngster (the 3 year old) wakes up himself and go to the loo when he needs too, or he cries in his bed, so i get up and take him. but most importantly, be patient. boys are very more different than girls. i have a 6 year old daughter, she wetted her bed like for 2 weeks when starting at night, and then she was dry. but boys are more stubborn. hope this helps :)
