My daughter just turned 3 months old last week and she has been drooling like crazy all of a sudden and she is really crabby and screaming all the time. It seems like shes in pain but 3 months old still seems early to me. What's your opinion or experience??

My son is four months and just recently had his four month check up. He had begun the teething process last month and the doctor said that it was normal and he was on track. I highly recommend the baby oragel. It provides relief but only for about a half hour.

My husband was born with a full tooth completely cut, makes for cute photos, not so cute with the breastfeeding his mum tells me.

not at all...I was breastfeeding my daughter and she bit me! at 3 months...not strange at all....her favorite thing to chew on was a washcloth that was damp and then put in the freezer...as she sucked and gnawed on it, well, water dries eventually! ;)

I agree with Kristen H. I don't trust the teething tablets. Belladonna is a hallucinogen, and I read about a lady on another forum who gave her daughter these tablets, and she would pass out after giving them to her. And not just going to sleep kind of passing out, she would be playing and happy in her arms and then just collapse suddenly.

I have only given my daughter infant Tylenol, and she has done okay. There have definitely been a few sleepless nights, but overall she has done okay and her first tooth is just breaking through. If you can put up with the crying and crabiness, I would recommend doing it as drug-free as possible. Just my opinion on the subject.

As for the timing, I have heard cases of babies already having a tooth or two at birth. Whether that's a fact or not, I don't know, but my guess is that, just like anything else, all kids are different and grow at different rates. My older sister got her first tooth when she was 4 months old. Not started teething then, that's when she got her first one. So it definitely varies.

my daughter got her top 4 teeth at the same time, then she got the 4 bottom and it was hard. as they need to chew on things get some frozen waffles, cut them into quarters and let her gum on them, keep an eye on her so she doesnt choke. teething rings are good but put them in the fridge not the freezer as they can be too hard. hope this helps.

Hi my son was teething that early. He loved a frozen washcloth. I would put a wet washcloth in a baggie and put in the freezer for about 10min. Then I would take it out of the baggie and rub it on his gums. He loved it!! It would clean his gums too, double duty....lol.

My daughter got her first two teeth at 3 mos. (front bottom). She got two more teeth at five months (top front). and two more teeth together every two months until she was one. She had to deal with a fever, lots of drool, runny nose, and some pain, but it got better. I tried a cold wash cloth, a teething ring (chilled, not frozen) and Tylenol for the fever. I also brushed her teeth with a gum brush and a teething brush. She seemed to like it and it helped us bond while she was cranky.

Mine started at 6 weeks! Some babies are born with teeth. You can't go by ages & stages guidelines until they're school age, and even then it's not accurate. Your baby is normal, and that is all that should matter to you. Don't freak out when she gets teeth, either. it took my daughter from 6 weeks til 6 months old to actually get her teeth in. she has two now, and at 7 months, is about to get 2 more! It's an exciting adventure! Enjoy the ride.

hi krysta, i have 4 kids and also my youngest is 3 mths, its not to early for her to be teething at all, usually they get their 1st tooth around 6 mths but it takes a few mths for it to come in and longer for some babys, you have to remember all babys are different, some are literally born with teeth, the best thing you can do is, when she seems like its bothering her rub a little orajel on her gums and massage it in real good and give her a little tylenol (infants of course) it wont hurt to try, either way then you'll now, make sure you dont give her ibuprofen though, thats for babys 6mths and older (motrin, advil, etc.) also after you wash your hands stick your pinky in there and feel, the bottom front come first, you might not feel them yet and that doesnt mean shes not teething, if she bites on your finger and seems relieved- also another sign, the gums can look a little white to when their teeth are coming through, trust me ive gone through this alot, one other thing you want to rule out is an ear infection because sometimes they have the same symptoms due to drainage in the ear infecting sinuses and causing pain in the gums... good luck and give the orajel a try with tylenol,(oh and sometimes its easier to use a q-tip to put it on the gums so you can get all the way back in their mouth, i like the orajel in the q-tips made that way and they are good for on the go...

my daughter got both bottom teeth at 3 1/2 mos. she is 5 1/2 and working on a top tooth now. luckily she has done very good with them not crabby at all... knock on wood. i really didn't notice a decrease in food... but def. an increase in drooling and chewing on everything. I BF and once in a while she will chop down on the milk maker... she has got it figured out now to not but to answer your question sounds like you got some toothers coming in. i didn't notice any result from the teething tablets, and i don't want to put anything in that i dont know what the ingredents are. i found a cool wet dishrag was good relief for discomfort. i ws told that the gel stuff is not recommended if you are BF it sometimes results in the baby not latching on b/c the gums are numb. good luck

I have a friend, and he little girl was born with a tooth already. So it can happen in the womb still. Crazy, but very true.

My son started teething at 3 1/2 weeks. And my daughter started when she was about 2 months, It completely depends on the child. they holistic teething tablets at your local pharmacy, they are crushed and you place them on the childs gums. If she stops the crying then you know it is her gums.

Mine both started at 3 months! It does sound crazy, but it happens. I also found out that just because they start at 3 months does not mean they will pop teeth earlier, it took quite a while with mine. I used a produst that worked well called "Little Teethers" teething gel. It worked wonders. Good luck!

go to Wal-Mart and get the Hylands all natural teething pills. They are a life saver. I used to have a day care and I could not of made it without them. The babies love them and they rest so much better.

My almost 4 month old has been teething for about 2 weeks. They can get teeth from as early as 3 months. They can also be toothless til 1 year old
