One of my close friends have a 4 month old lil girl who is teething early. She has try everything that you can give for a baby when teething from tyenol to the cold cloth!! Baby Orjel isnt working. Rocking her seems to be the only way to calm her down but once you stop, she goes right back at it.She is at her wit ends, all her daughter does is cry and cry. Any suggestions to help her with the teething baby???

My daughter Claire will be 9 months in 3 days and has 8 teeth. She started teething at 4 months and shortly after got her 1st tooth. She was in so much pain and it was unbearable to see her like that. Tylenol and Motrin did help. At 7 months, she and I were in Florida and in 4 days, she got a new tooth everyday. She was screaming and crying from all the pain and Tylenol and Motrin definately didn't do anything for her pain. My parents told me to rub whiskey on her gums. I called her pediatrician and asked her about doing this and her reply was "it didn't kill me". What a relief this was and it works instantly. Of course, call your peditrician first, but from mom to mom, I can tell you the pain was minimized and she smiling again.

Try "Highlands" teething tablets...they desolve right away and they are hemopathic. You can get them at Walmart in the baby section. Good Luck!!!!

I agree with alot of the other mom's, Humphrey's tablets work pretty good. Since your daughter is only 4 months old, becareful about the Mortin, I don't think they can use that til they're about 6 months old. Orajel helps at night to get them to calm down, but it doesn't stay numb for long. Also, I'm a big fan of Gripe Water buy Wellements. You can find that at Walgreens, Whole Foods and Wegman's. I don't know about your Pedi, but my daughter's doctor doesn't tag ANY symptoms to teething just incase it is something else. Jackie is 12.5 months old and I threw a teething ring in her crib! She's just cutting her 3rd and 4th pairs of teeth! Good luck!

My dentist told me never to use Baby Orajel because it hardens their gums and makes it twice as hard for the teeth to come through.  He told me to use adult crest and rub it into their gums, it will numb just like the orajel, but keep their gums soft.  I have 4 boys, and this is all that I have ever used for teething, and worked great.

This sounds a little weird but everyone in my family uses a frozen weiner wrapped in saran wrap. I have tried this my self and it really helped my son. Also I've stuck a wet cloth in the freezer and let my little guy chew on it, that worked too. He really liked it when I would make noises such as his I think it distracted him from the pain. I hope this helps.

HI Stacey!

Have your friend try Hyland's Teething Tablets. They are a homeopathic tablets that dissolve in the mouth. They help calm the inflammation, irritablity, and help the baby sleep better. I swear by them and so does everyone else I know who has tried them. I'm not sure where you live but you can get them in Publix supermarket, Vitamin Shopppe or a health food store. If not, she can probably go online. I hope this helps her! God bless!

I found the Camilia by Boiron worked WONDERS for both of my boys.  I recommended to all my friends and they had the same outcome.  It can also be found at Walmart.

Good luck!

You have to try the Hyland Teething tablets. You will NOT be disappointed, and your baby will finally get relief.  Walmart or Walgreens has them.

Baby orajel is instantly numbing. Perhaps a trip to the doc is in order to make sure it isn't something else.   Are you sure it isn't just her wanting to be rocked?  Babies, even that young, have a way of manipulating moms, and at only 4 mos, crying is her only tool.

try rubbing whiskey on her gums that should sort it out. no harm in it its what they did in the old days before all these fancy products came out. it should numb the pain, also bonjela teething gel & paracetamol. my daughter started teething at 4 months. i used pain killers, bonjela & teething rings from the fridge & i let her chew my finger (she seemed to like this more). there isnt much else you can do for teething babies. x

Well I don't have any support to offer, we are going through the same thing right now with my five month old.  We could see his tooth at four months and now he just screams at night because it is hurting so badly.  We trying the tylenol, orajel, teethers and he just keeps on screamin... So we walk and walk and walk until both of us are exhausted!

My son started teething early, and had alot of problems wiht him as well...I had talked to my mom, and she told me to buy those mini freezes...poke a whole at the top and let them suck on it...they are not getting enough juice for them to harm themselfs...the only thing is, it gets really cold beacuse you have to hold it...I ran it by his doctor and she said it was a great idea...hope that helps

My baby's not that bad, just very clingy, but we have found that ice cubes in those mesh pacifiers work for a while. It will at least give a little break if you can get her to hold it.

Have you tried Hyland's Teething Tablets? My friend Sarah suggested them to me months ago, and they are miracle worker for 11 month old son.

tylenol does not help with my son but baby motrin does as does some herbal teething tabs my friend suggested that I got at my local pharmacy.  Also make sure its just teething.  My son gets alot of ear infections and I thought they were just teething issues at first.
