I have a 9 month old son and he is teething pretty badly. He has his bottom 2 teeth already, but his top tooth is coming in. I have been giving him the Nature's Gentle homeopathic teething drops, orajel, and the cold teething rings you put in the fridge. Any other ideas? Thanks.

I've used an amber teething necklace with my youngest daughter and I think they do wonders! they have saved me lots of money as Camilia is not cheap. When looking at the different options it was important to me that I choose the safest, most natural products.

A European friend suggested it to me because my daughter was having alot of teething distress. Apparently in Europe they are such a common remedy that they are sold in drug stores.

I bought mine from a Latvian online store called Latvian Amber Store:

There is also some homeopathic teething drops. Our dentist was our absolute lifesaver...he gave us a little container of that topical numbing stuff they use in the office. We just put a tid bit on a q-tip and apply it where ever the teeth are coming in. You should try asking for some. Oragel NEVER worked for us.

Try Brauer Teething Relief. Apparently it works very well and is homeopathic. Available in Australia. Not sure about over seas.

Hi Amy! I have had success with Hylands Teething Tablets as well. I used it with both of my boys, and I run a daycare as well and have had success using it with the children I take care of.

I used to give my little one ice cubes to gnaw on. She really hated the orajel and would not let my put it in her mouth. I had used the frozen teething rings until she bit through one... then started with the ice cubes... easy cleanup as well!

The frozen, wet wash clothes worked well for our son, as did frozen bananas. Good luck!

Fresh Garlic. Cut in the middle of the glove and rub on the gums. It offers some relief.

I live in Australia, so am not sure if it is available to you but Brauer's Teething Medicine works a treat.

hyland's makes teething tablets which i found to work great for one of my kids but not the other. worth a try...and the other thing that worked for me is bergamont (essential oil). something about it when rubbed on the gums acts as a natural numming agent. it takes just a dab on your finger and rub on their gums. i tried it in my own mouth first because i was reluctant. works great but tasted terrible for a short time.
