So I have been teaching Katarina (16 month old) little things here and there. For example:
- We take off her clothes before her bath and she will take them and drop them into the laundry basket.
- After diaper change she throws away her own diaper then I help her wash her hands.
- After wiping hands or nose with a wipe or tissue she will toss it in the trash.
-When she is done she will toss her unwanted food in the trash and hand me her plate so that I can wash it.
-She will pick up her toys and blocks after we play..But my question is if she only picks up half the block or toys do you make them come back and help you pick up the rest or do you say, good job well done. And let them go on with whatever comes next?
I dont force her to pick up her toys when she wont, but should I tell her we need to finish picking them up and see if she will. She just loses intrest if there are to many blocks or toys to put away. Should I let her scurry off then try to see if she will pick them up with my later through out the day or should I just pick them up and put them away myself. I want her to learn to clean up after herself. I dont mind picking up after her, but she seems to understand well and im wondering how to get her to finish picking up and not just do half and lose intrest? Any advice.. What do you do?
