my daughter is 5 years old and LOVES fairies and tinker bell ext im sure you understand how attached some kids get to certain things my childs favorite is fairies.

we told her about the tooth fairy because she lost her first tooth today well she has cried herself to sleep because she wanted to stay awake to meet the tooth fairy and be her friend. we even had to leave the tooth fary a letter telling her that jenn wanted to be her friend.

what do i do tomorrow morning when she wakes up crying that the she didnt get to meet the tooth fairy?????

i already told her that she comes at night when everyone is asleep because she is shy....thats where the note came in jenn thought if she wrote her a note then she wont be shy or scared it says "dont be shy i want to be your friend im a nice person."

write her a note on the computer and print it using it in the tiniest font

then read it using a magnifying glass

also sometimes our tooth fairy gets mixed up and leaves coins from another country

Oh that note is so sweet, what a lovely little girl.

I thought the tooth fairy was supposed to be invisible??? Can she meet the invisible tooth fairy?

I just read Amy Lea's idea. Yes, she has to meet the fairy over the phone because human's cant see or hear tooth fairies. Will that work?

Leave her a letter from the tooth fairy. Santa Claus leaves my son a letter every year and explains any reason for a wanted toy not being present. Tell her that she had a very nice tooth and that she can't stay and play bc she has so many other kids to visit. Then tell her to brush her teeth.

The letter and phone calls sound a good idea.... does your daughter go to school? If so why not get a photo of a fairy and place it under her pillow so she has a photo of 'Her Special Fairy'.

you could try leaving her a note back? saying that she knows she's a nice person but she's too shy or something like that?

She JUST passed out the poor thing! She was so excited all day and then she got herself all nervous she wouldnt fall asleep in time for the tooth fairy to come then she decided she would wait up and meet her because she wanted to be her friend mommy made her sound a bit to exciting (good going mom right) she climbed into bed at 8:30 and has been in tears ever since im so affraid finding the money and first tooth certificate from the tooth fairy just isnt going to be enough...i pray the phone call to the tooth fairy does!

Let her know she can call her. Find a good friend she does NOT recognize the voice of to play the part. Just have the friend state she isn't supposed to meet people in person, because it's against the rules. The "phone a fairy" system has saved us so often!

We all have rules we must live by. Tooth Fairys are not allowed to meet kids in person. Most kids are nice, it is not about that. It is just a rule. Their magic doesn't work right if kids are awake, I don't know why. They have a lot of kids to see in one night and if their magic stops working right, what will happen to all the other kids?
My daughter was thrilled the tooth fairy was there, she was okay wiht not meeing her/him. She loved the proof, tooth gone, money left in trade. She understood, like the Easter Bunny and Santa, kids don't really get to see them. Union rules.
