My husband and I have this convoersation toy box vs organizing toys. I think helping our son organize his toys will help him in later life to be a more organize person. He thinks it takes to long and and it would be easier to just have a toy box so he can just though everything in one place. We keep going back and front on this! What do you think???

Why not have both?
I'm not the most organized person, and I have no expectation of anything even close to perfection. But for a young kid, you could do some very basic organizing.
For example, I have 2 toyboxes. One for toys and one for blocks.
If your kid is super interested in one thing (cars, dinosaurs etc) then have one box for that, one for general toys and one for blocks.
Start small :) and don't worry too much is a dino (or car or whatever) end up in the block box. As long as there's some rhyme and reason to it, it should be fine.

Ok, I have tried both, and I am going with toybox. Even my 6 year old will whine about having to pack up if it all has to be properly organised. She won't do it herself, and in all honesty, the battles just aren't worth it. You will find yourself constantly battling to have it packed up properly in the exact righ place. Yes, maybe it will help him be more organised later in life (or maybe not, who knows), but is it worth the angst of the ongoing battle? With kids, you have to pick your battles, you really do. Is this one you are prepared to take on?

I organize toys. i tried the toy box yrs ago, but it seemed to create a bigger mess trying to find things, plus things got lost or broken in there.

If his cupboard wasn't full of spare prams and baby walkers I'd put the bigger stuff in there.

We have a toy box. And I don't work. Haha. My son's room is never tidy we just shove the toys all in the box and the bigger stuff like ride ons and fake lawn mowers and trucks against the wall.

Toy box, my husband and I both work I don't have time to organize toys every night, besides they just end up back all over the floor the next day. But I should add I'm not an orderly/organized person either!
