I have a daughter who is going to be 8 months at the end of the month. She won't drink out of a sippy cup but she won't drink juice or water only formula. What can I do to get her to start out of a sippy cup and also how can I get her to drink juice or water?

My nephew was exactly the same while my son drank and drank heaps. Just relax about it because he did eventually by 12 months start drinking from a sippy and drinking water. You could just try water in the bottle I dont give my son juice at all so all he knows is water. Some babies just dont want the sippy I guess but in time they will.

Keep offering her a sippy of water (no need for juice yet) on a daily basis and don't worry about it.

Start watering down the formula a bit...she'll get more water that way and make the transition easier!

you only offer the juice or water. actually I never gave my girls juice since they always ate fruits and veggies all the time anyway. Plus juice is just full of sugar. :) However, it does sound cruel but your daughter will be fine. Anytime she wants a drink offer her a bottle with some water or juice in it. Sooner or later she will take tiny drops and then sips of it. Pretty soon she will be drinking it just fine. Also do worry about pushing the sippy just yet. She is only 8 mos. old. If you are really worried about it offer it a meal time without the stopper in it. However, help her take drinks because it comes out fast. You want her to understand that this is another way to get a drink and she may just not want to suck on it like a bottle. Mine never used the stoppers for that reason. I hope this helps.
