my 4 year old is acting out and screaming all the time, when i have to get onto him he really has a fit, he wont mind me and he has to fight with you about everything just like a teen. and the story's he tells are not true but he thinks they are and will fight with you that they are! i don't know what to do, i think i've tried every thing. please help!!

Thank you, he was spoiled, hes my only baby i have, i lost my two girls they where 3 and 4, its been almost 10 yrs ago and now i find my self giving in and letting him get away with more. he gets attention maybe not enough lol but theirs no new changes in the home, and i am a at home mom. I have noticed things got worse when he started back to pre-k, but i have always had this problem with him, i guess i can try to do more with him than i do. thanks again

I had that problem with my son when he was little I spoiled him a lot I kinda figured it was because of that, that he would yell until I read in an article I learned two things 1.kids get stressed too not just adults maybe something is going on at school maybe with his peers or parents are busy not paying attention to them like I was always working or going to school so I gave my son a little bit of attention the article said that kids want attention wither its good or bad 2.some parents give in too quick like if my son started yelling I just thought it was easy to give him what he wants to stop making him yell in public but instead of helping him I was making him believe that by yelling he gets what he wants they maybe small but they are really smart so when he would yell I would put his attention on something else like if he yells I want this toy I would try to find something else for him to look at in the store .But you need to seem really interested in what your trying to make him look at to catch his attention and eventually they well stop yelling at everything or everyone .my son didn't yell no more he is now 7 but it takes time to DE-program them from yelling best of luck :)
