My 2 years old has been telling me "Mommy owie" as she points to her tummy. She as been doing this for almost 2 months; about 2 times a day. Most of the time she is just fine. I thought it was hunger pains or maby she need to poop. The Dr. thought she had a urine infection. It is none of these.

I want to know why my baby keeps telling me that her tummy hurts. A friend told me that she could has intestinal parasites. Help

EW - cud be true, but thatz usually associated with an itchy booty & u can see it when u wipe her (like a 'worm' - highly unlikely itz another parasite unless u'v visited another country - but it COULD be, just in case u find out it is) - she could be gassy - have u tried giving her milicon or sumthing similar for age-group - gas is painful & some kids are more gassy than others - if u lie her down & feel her tummy or listen to it, can u feel or hear anything? if she doesn't SEEM to be in pain, by now it could be habit to get attn - NOT that i'm saying that she's lying - kids just do the darndest things, ya know - Good Luck with this - i know if u'r like me u want to know for sure - just keep trying things - but also try not paying as much attn to it if she doesn't seem to be IN PAIN & see if she mentions it less >>?? ya never know ;)

i would just take her to the dr and explain what is going on and insist on something to be done and if the dr doesnt want to help then go to a different dr until you get help

My kids say that and it's from them being hungry. Sometimes they get hungry very shortly after eating (within an hour) b/c of a growth spurt.

I had an umbilical hernia repaired when I was about two does she have an innie or outie belly button? I had an outie now I have an innie because of the surgery for the hernia and that is what my mom said I did was point to my stomach and say "mommy owie" and after a while I also would say "no owie" when being tickled. Maybe something to ask your Dr. about especially if she has an outie belly button.

quite often if a child is complaining of tummy pains it is worms but don't worry too much, most people do have worms at one time in their lifes. Is her bottom a bit red around the anus too, or does she seem to itch there too? they are also signs of worms. Here in France it is considered normal to give a worming treatment when the kids go back to school as prevention! You can buy the treatment in any pharmacy (either in liquid or tablet form) and you need to treat the whole family, pets included. My advice as a pharmacy tech and mum is to do the treatment.
