I liked Paige Elliot...that was my first pick. We ended up with Kylie Marie. I also liked Rowan. My sister's name is Chalaya pronounced (Shuh-Lie-UH). It's not in a single baby name book. Her middle name is Jozett. I like it, It's old fashioned and isnt heard often. I actually havent heard of anyone else with that name. My mom liked different names. Causia Cameal was supposed to be one of our names. Not my taste but it's different. I worked in Retail at one point and got a credit card with a female named Vance...I though it was cool, Vance is usually a boys name. Kael (Kale) for a girl is nice too.

I have always been told I have an uncommon name, and my middle name is leigh. (Kind of like Kimberly) My mother always insisted I make my daughters middle name leigh and we wanted to name her marley, instead we named her Amara (which means eternally beautiful) and gave her my middle name. We still call her Marley though:)

Our little girl is Marley, named after Bob, not the dog : ) It's becoming more popular (unfortunately) but with lots of different spellings - Marley, Marlie, Mahli, Marlee...

hi my hubby and i took his nanas name which was also Kathleen (we were both very close with her, she passed away a couple of months after we got married in her garden) and modernised it a bit and named our daughter Katelyn Rose. If you have any old fashined names of people your fond of you could try doing that. it also helped make it a bit more diffrent than my own name, Catherine. hope that helps

You could do like my husband and I did with our first and combine the two names you both like into one. He liked Starr and I liked Hana (Japanese version and means 'flower'). So we just put them together as Starr-Hana and then went and gave her my family's middle name for her middle name--Lucille. Just go through some baby name books. It was between Charlotte and Drucilla for our second daughter. We went with Drusilla...a little different spelling. You can always change up the spelling a bit to suit your tastes. I would definitely recommend going with a family name for her middle name, though. It's just a little way to bond and pass down that line to a girl since they usually drop their last name when they get married.

I'm all about unique names :)
We have a son, Allister Shaw.
We're expecting our second in September.. don't know what the gender is quite yet... the lil booger won't let us see.
If it's a boy we're naming him Riddock Alexander.
If it's a girl we're naming her Trinity Aurora.
Some other names I like, but didn't pass my husband:
Boys: Quinn, Xaviar
Girls: Zadie, Raylee

We struggled with girls names too (thank-goodness we had a little boy). We wanted a slightly different name but not too out there like some celebs. The names we loved were all oldies: Rose Amy, Felicity Rose, Violet Amy, Scarlett, Elizabeth, and Victoria good luck name hunting.

What are the grandma's names? I ask this because for our youngest we did that. Her name is Gina. G for Gladys and ina for Mina. This way she was named after both and no ones feelings were hurt.

When we found out we're having a girl, we wanted to choose a unique older name that's not very common ... we named her Esther Leah. You either like the name Esther or you don't ... I'm very happy with our name choice. Naomi was also on our list ...

I personally am in love with older names. My daughters' names are Ava Scarlett and Molly Claire. I wanted something a little different, but not weird. I also was very careful to choose names that would be easy to spell and pronounce. I learned that lesson after naming my son Peyton (his name gets spelled with an 'a' instead of an 'e' all of the time). Just some things to think about. I also love the names Claudia, Emma, and Charlotte (you could even call her Charly for short). Good luck...you'll know the right name when you see or hear it.

I have a daughter called Matilda May and everyone says that it is very unusual I also have a daughter called Emily Jade which we love. Matilda means Battle strenght, May means Wished for child, Emily means Industrious/naturally and Jade means mummy's precious gem.Good lucck in your search. PS we choose 3 for each of my pregnanies of each sex and when they came out we looked at them to see what they looked like so maybe if you dont find it now you will instantly know when he/she is born. The other names we liked were Kayla May, Hannah Josephine, Hazel Grace, and Heather Rose

I prefer the irish names my daughters name is Caoimhe Mairead ..
pronounced .. Kee-va Ma-raid!
Caoimhe is the female irish version for kevin and mairead is irish for margaret.
I wanted my daughter names after her 2 grans but margaret was too old fashioned for me.

Also Niamh (neev) or Sian (shan)
