Many moms have helped me with questions on here before and I need a bit of advice.

My daughter's official due date is tomorrow and so far I do not believe I have had any signs of labor but I am unsure. I haven't lost my mucus plug thus far, that I have seen (I check every time after using the restroom). My water hasn't broken yet. But my stomach has been feeling crampy, tight and very uncomfortable. I feel sharp pains every so often, I'm guessing located above my perineum, I can't pin point the spot exactly. They aren't super bad but very unpleasant. I don't know if she is laying on a nerve and causing this or what it could be. I also get the sharp pains when she moves a certain way. Not all movements she makes, just some. This may sound awkward but it's like the pain of having to fart but holding it in. You know how you get a sharp sudden pain? Or like having to go #2 but not being able to and you get a crampy stomach with pains. But no, I am not constipated. Sorry to be unbecoming but that's the only things I can relate it to.

She has been dropped down for about three weeks now and dropped even lower a little over a week ago.

I also heard your baby is supposed to slow in movement before labor and my little one is still as active as she always has been.

If you have any idea of what this could be, it'd help me out a lot. I am worried and have no insight. Please help!... :l

p.s. I have an appt with my midwife tomorrow afternoon, but if I am having signs of labor right now, I would really like to be prepared because this is my first baby and I live an hour and 15 mins away from where I am giving birth.

It could be braxton hicks and your body just preparing for labor.

With my daughter, I would get a sharp pain in my lower back when she made certain movements, and when she hit my hip it was a really uncomftable achy crampy feeling.

Some babies do become less active right before they are born, my daughter did a little but only the morning I went into labor. My son kicked me right through until he was born. My midwife could still feel him kicking when I got to the hospital.

If you are really worried, I would call your midwife. She should be able to give you the information and reassurance you are looking for.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.
