I think it's all to do with the new baby. Alot of older siblings are understandably very confused when a baby comes home. Of course they are not getting as much attention as they are used to and they see the baby getting attention when it has a wet nappy, so they do the same. I have even herd of cases when the older sibling wants to go back to wearing nappies, having breast or bottle milk and other things that babies do. And apparently you should let them do it. They will eventually get over it. Also try and spend some one on one time with ur son even if it's just half an hour of uninterupted playing. This willl pass soon, good luck.

It sounds like he is fighting for your attention, he wets his pants and I guess he has you spend time with him to change him! Some children react differently to new sibblings! I am a chilcare worker and sometimes we had 3yo do this, our strategy in the end was everytime the child wet, we got their fresh clothes out for them, but they had to do the changing and putting the wet clothes away themselves, they soon got sick of doing this and stopped wetting lol! I should mentiion that my 6yo uses the toilet as an excuse to get out of time out, maybe you son is wetting to get out of being in time out! Hope this all helps, it makes life that little bit harder when things like this happen, especially when you have a little baby as well! Good luck with it all!

I have never heard of a child doing this except out of sheer terror. I honestly wish I could give you some advice about this. :/

The night time wettings are understandable. He may not be fully awake and not aware enough to get up or wake you up to help him if needed. The day time though is a problem. We had this same thing happen with our son last year when we had our second child. He too was almost 3 when his brother arrived. My husband (a behavioral therapist) was adamant that he was wetting and pooping his pants on purpose. His concern was that our son was being intentionally defiant. Instead of giving a great amount of attention to the outcome we didn't want we gave greater attention to the outcome we did want. I created a sticker chart. He got stickers for each time he was successful with making it to the toilet. This can include telling someone he has to go, extra stickers for a whole day of making to the toilet or whatever will motivate for the outcome desired. I gave a sticker for each time until successful, then changed it to each day. I never took stickers away. The chart I made had a weeks worth of spaces. However long it took him to complete the row was up to him. When a row was complete he got a big reward, like ice cream or a movie. It worked. If you still have trouble talk to your pediatrician about it.
