very confused has anyone had postive blood test but not been pregnant

i'm so confused and have no idea whats going on. i was due for my period between 13th and 16th of march i have got it between those dates for the past 8 months at least. anyway when it didn't show up i got a little concerned i'm on the pill and have been very good with it haven't missed a day at all so took a pee test on monday the 19th of march it was negitive but i was going to doc anyway so told him about it and he sent me for blood test only cause i wanted to know has i go to gym and lift weights so wanted to becareful if i was i had ot wait till thursday for resuts it came back i was between 5 and 25 % pregnancy hormone so saying i was a few days pregnant but to re test so i retested on the thursday and got results back friday and i was now 8 to 25% so doc had said yes i pregnant as anything over 2 they say is a postive but hormone level should be much higher then that so i have to get another one monday to see if it goes higher. Well on friday night i started to bleed not very heavy but i put a pad on and just assumed i was getting my period so wasn't pregnant. it has been very light and now its sunday afternoon and it has all but stopped excpet for little bit every now and again. what i want to know is if this has happened to anyone else and they been pregnant or not i have a few signs of pregnancy as in sore breast just under the nipple and even the nipple i'm very tired and a little nauses plus am getting headaches. just very confused what might be happening. thank you to anyone who responds.

so i found out today that i suffered a miscarriage thank you for responding to my post. i have some mixed emotions but all in all i'm ok and will try for another in due time when me and my body both agree

Sounds like a miscarriage to me. Both of mine were just like yours.

thank you for that sight i read it and it sounds very possible i will talk to my doc about it tomorrow if i have a nother poitive blood test i want tot get an ultrasound to see if everything is on track and that.

thank you louise for your advice. the blood stated very dark brown and went to a light red and now has completely stopped. i am going in today to get another blood test done just to make sure and go from there and i have my appointment with my doctor tomorrow afternoon to tell him everything and if it still positive i'll get him to do the internal to make sure everything is still ok.

This happend to me three times and what had happend was I was pregnant but the baby had died due to lack of blood flow. I had a blood disorder called antiphospholipidus which is basically thick blood only detected when pregnant.



All I can tell you is if the blood is bright red then this is a sign all is not well if you are pregnant. If the blood is pink or brown in colour then this is a sign of implantation bleeding or old blood in the cervix. The only way to tell what is going on is to have an ultrasound scan.



Also your doctor should be able to tell with a simple internal. If your cervix is the size of an orange you are pregnant. You need to find out for sure and decide what you want to do about it. Any bleeding in pregnancy should be looked at closely.
